Chrysler Pacifica
Chrysler Pacifica is a nameplate used by Chrysler for a variety of vehicles. The name was first used on a luxury minivan concept vehicle in 1999, and later a crossover concept in 2002. From 2004 to 2008, it was used on a mid-size crossover, and since the 2017 model year, it has been used as the Town & Country minivan's replacement. Minivan (sometimes called simply as van) is a North American car classification for vehicles designed to transport passengers in the rear seating row(s), with reconfigurable seats in two or three rows. The equivalent classification in Europe is MPV (multi purpose vehicle). Minivans often have a 'one-box' or 'two-box' Car body configurations, body configuration, a higher roof, a flat floor, sliding doors for rear passengers, and high H-point seating. Chrysler Town & Country
The Chrysler Town & Country is a minivan that was manufactured and marketed by Chrysler from 1990 to the 2016 model years. The third of the Chrysler minivans introduced, the 1990 Town & Country shared its nameplate with the flagship Chrysler station wagon produced from 1941 to 1988. Five generations of the model line were produced, with the Town & Country positioned as the flagship luxury minivan trim package, slotted above the extended wheelbase Dodge Grand Caravan and Plymouth Grand Voyager. After the 2016 model year, Chrysler retired the Town & Country nameplate for Chrysler-division minivans, with the sixth-generation 2017 vehicles adopting the Chrysler Pacifica nameplate. Chrysler Pacifica (1999 Concept Vehicle)
The Chrysler Pacifica was a concept luxury minivan created by DaimlerChrysler under the Chrysler marque in 1999. The Pacifica was built in commemoration of the Chrysler minivan's 15th anniversary and was intended to be a more upscale variant of the Town & Country with an LHS inspired front fascia and a raised roof, which included a skylight and overhead storage bins. It could seat up to six, with four front and rear captain's chairs and fold-out jump seats on each of the rear seats. The 2nd row seats featured power footrests. The concept also had a golf bag rack in the trunk space that could hold up to four golf bags. The name was eventually applied to a crossover, itself inspired by the Chrysler Citadel concept, which was produced from 2003 to 2008 and is currently being used on the replacement for the Town & Country minivan.
