Chris Johns (darts Player)
Chris Johns is a Welsh former professional darts player. He played county darts for Glamorgan and participated in the BDO World Darts Championship on five occasions. He is best remembered as a controversial figure in an acrimonious split in the game between 1992 and 1994. Career Johns made his debut at the 1988 Embassy World Championship, reaching the second round. He made four further appearances at the championships, losing in the first round in 1989, 1991, and 1993, and in the second round in 1992. His only two wins at Lakeside were against Mike Gregory in 1988 and Steve Beaton in 1992. He had only moderate success in British Darts Organisation (BDO) Open tournaments. As early as 1986, he reached the semi-finals of the Winmau World Masters – beating Eric Bristow in the last 16, before falling to Bob Anderson in the last four. Chris Johns (born April 15, 1951) is a photographer and former editor-in-chief for ''National Geographic Magazine'', a role he held from January 2005 to April 2014. After an internal reorganization at the organization, in April 2014, Johns was named chief content officer of National Geographic Society. He spent many years in Africa for the magazine and is the first photographer to have been named its editor-in-chief. He started his journalism career at daily newspapers. Biography Prior to becoming the Beyond Yellowstone Program leader of the National Geographic Society, Johns served as executive director of the Society's Centers of Excellence and chief content officer, overseeing the expression of ''National Geographic'''s editorial content across various media platforms. Chris Johns (rugby League)
Chris Johns (born 14 March 1964) is an Australian former rugby league footballer who played in the 1980s and 1990s. He played in the centres, achieving representative honors for Australia and New South Wales. His club football career was spent with the St. George Dragons and Brisbane Broncos, as well as two spells in England, first with Castleford ( Heritage № 653) in 1986-87 and then Barrow in 1989–90. After retiring from the playing field, Johns worked in the administration of the Brisbane Broncos and Melbourne Storm clubs. Playing career Although born in Queensland, Johns was raised in the St George District of Sydney. Johns played his junior rugby league for Penshurst RSL.
