Chhoti Si Baat
''Chhoti Si Baat'' () is a 1976 Hindi-language romantic comedy coming of age film directed by Basu Chatterjee. Considered one of the best Hindi comedy films of the 1970s, it is a nostalgic favourite for its quirky take on pre-hypercongestion Bombay. The film became a box office hit. and also earned six Filmfare nominations and a Filmfare Award for Best Screenplay for Basu Chatterjee. The movie is a remake of the 1960 British movie '' School for Scoundrels''. It also established Amol Palekar as having an uncommon comic talent for playing mousy characters, a role he would go on to repeat several times in his career. Basu Chatterjee ( bn, বাসু চ্যাটার্জ্জী; 10 January 1927 – 4 June 2020) was an Indian film director and screenwriter. Mukesh Chand Mathur (22 July 1923 – 27 August 1976), better known mononymously as Mukesh, was an Indian playback singer. Mukesh is considered to be one of the most popular and acclaimed playback singers of the Hindi film industry. Yogesh Gaur, or Gaud commonly credited as Yogesh, (March 19, 1943 – May 29, 2020), was an Indian writer and lyricist. He was known for his contributions to Bollywood, and possibly his best known works came from the film '' Anand'', songs including ''Kahin Door Jab Din Dal Jaaye'' and ''Zindagi Kaisi Hai Paheli'' (1971), and also ''Rajnigandha phool tumhare'' from the movie ''Rajnigandha'' (1974).
