Chhattisgarh Janata Congress
Janta Congress Chhattisgarh (or Chhattisgarh Janata Congress) is a political party in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh. The party was founded by former Chief Minister, Ajit Jogi, after Jogi and his son Amit were expelled from Indian National Congress due to anti-party activities as well as sabotaging a bypoll election in Antagarh. Amit Jogi was expelled for six years. Ajit Jogi launched the party in Thathapur village of Kawardha district and directly challenged Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Raman Singh. Chhattisgarh Assembly Election 2018 The JCC and BSP decided to fight in the 2018 Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly election in alliance with each other according to which, JCC contested on 55 seats while BSP contested on 35 seats. Ajit Jogi
Ajit Pramod Kumar Jogi (29 April 1946 29 May 2020) was an Indian politician, who served as the first chief minister of Chhattisgarh, India. He was a member of the political party named Janta Congress Chhattisgarh. Education Jogi studied Mechanical Engineering at Maulana Azad College of Technology (MACT), Bhopal. He was college topper and hence won the University Gold Medal in 1968. He studied law at the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi. After having worked briefly as a lecturer at the National Institute of Technology, Raipur, he was selected for two of the most coveted civil services of India; the Indian Police Service and the Indian Administrative Service. 2018 Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Election
The 2018 Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly election was held to elect members to the Legislative Assembly of the Indian State of Chhattisgarh. The election was held in two phases for a total of 90 seats; the first for 18 seats in South Chhattisgarh was held on 12 November 2018, and the second for the remaining 72 were held on 20 November. The INC got a landslide victory winning 68 seats against the ruling BJP's 15 seats, and consequently formed the government after 15 years as opposition party. Incumbent Chief Minister Raman Singh resigned on 11 December, the day of counting and declaration of result, taking the responsibility for the defeat. Dr. Raman Singh (born 15 October 1952) is an Indian politician and Former Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh. Currently, he is the National Vice-President of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He is also an ayurvedic practitioner. He is also the longest serving CM of Chhattisgarh for 15 years.
