Champlain College is a private college in Burlington, Vermont. Founded in 1878, Champlain offers on-campus undergraduate and online undergraduate courses through Champlain College Online, along with online certificate and degree programs and master's degree programs, in more than 80 subject areas. Champlain enrolls 2,200 undergraduate students on its Burlington, Vermont campus from 44 states and 17 countries. History Champlain was founded in 1878 as Burlington Business School, opened by G.W. Thompson, to prepare young men for “the business cares and responsibilities of life.” In 1884, when E. Plattsburgh, New York
Plattsburgh ( moh, Tsi ietsénhtha) is a city in, and the seat of, Clinton County, New York, United States, situated on the north-western shore of Lake Champlain. The population was 19,841 at the 2020 census. The population of the surrounding (and separately incorporated) Town of Plattsburgh was 11,886 as of the 2020 census, making the combined population for all of greater Plattsburgh to be 31,727. Plattsburgh lies just to the northeast of Adirondack Park, immediately outside of the park boundaries. It is the second largest community in the North Country region (after Watertown), and serves as the main commercial hub for the sparsely populated northern Adirondack Mountains. ''Willard and Maple'' is an international literary magazine published by Champlain College. The magazine has its headquarters in Burlington, Vermont. The name comes from the street corner of the magazine's headquarters. History Willard & Maple started life as a Champlain College class in 1994, later being published as a student magazine in 1996. James McNeil
James McNeil (born July 24, 1958) is an American businessman and politician who served as a member of the Vermont House of Representatives from 2008 to 2013 and the Vermont Senate from 2019 to 2021. Early life and education James L. McNeil was born in Rutland City, Vermont on July 24, 1958, a son of James F. McNeil and Jane (Masan) McNeil. It was formed in 1978 through the unification of the ''Journal'' of Woodsville, New Hampshire and the ''United Opinion'' of Bradford by Robert "Bob" Powell who owned both papers. Rusty DeWees (born November 15, 1960) is an American actor, producer and writer. He works regionally in Vermont, Off-Broadway, in television, and films. He is best known for his one-man comedy show, ''The Logger''. The Vermont House of Representatives is the lower house of the Vermont General Assembly, the state legislature of the U.S. state of Vermont. Clement Joseph Bissonnette (born April 8, 1945) is an American politician in the state of Vermont. He was a member of the Vermont House of Representatives, sitting as a Democrat from the Chittenden-6-7 district, representing Winooski and part of Burlington, Vermont. He was first elected in 2008. In September 2018, Bissonnette announced that he and his wife Sharon had decided to move to Guildhall, Vermont, so he would no longer be able to represent Winooski.
