Central Private School (CPS) or Central Private (CP) is a private education institution located in Central, Louisiana. The school was founded in the 1967 amidst the court ordered desegregation of public schools. CPS is one of several private schools located in East Baton Rouge Parish. Central, Louisiana
Central is a city in the U.S. state of Louisiana, second largest city in East Baton Rouge Parish, and part of the Baton Rouge metropolitan statistical area. The state's newest incorporated city in April 2005, Central had a 2020 census population of 29,565. The Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) is the agency that regulates and promotes the interscholastic athletic competitions of all high schools in the state of Louisiana. Organization LHSAA was founded in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in October 1920. The LHSAA's main office was in Hammond from 1953 until 1972, when it returned to Baton Rouge. The Louisiana Independent School Association (1970-1992), more commonly known as LISA, was an athletic association created to offer interscholastic sports at all-white segregation academies in the state of Louisiana. The organization is no longer in existence. In its ruling on ''Brumfield v. Rogers Lane Mestepey Jr. is a former college baseball pitcher at LSU. He was ranked among the top players for LSU during the 2000s and ranks second in school history in total victories.
