Caulfield Football Club
Caulfield Football Club was an Australian rules football club which played in the VFA from 1965 until 1987 when due to financial difficulties the club folded. History Origins The Camden Town Football Club was based in the South Caulfield area and had been in existence from at least 1898. In 1910 they entered a side in the Federal Football Association Junior competition. They won the premiership in 1911. Play was suspended for the World War I. After the war the club resumed and changed its name to South Caulfield and joined the VJFA. In 1922 the club won lower grade premiership. In 1926 until 1940 the club competed in the MAFA. While the senior team was in the Amateurs, in 1939 a junior side was formed and entered the Federal Football League B grade competition using its original name of Camden. The Victorian Football League (VFL) is an Australian rules football league in Australia serving as one of the second-tier regional semi-professional competitions which sit underneath the fully professional Australian Football League (AFL). It includes teams from clubs based in the eastern states of Australia: Victoria (Australia), Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland, and includes reserve team, reserves teams for the east coast AFL clubs. Northcote Football Club
Northcote Football Club (/ˈnoːθ.kət/), nicknamed The Dragons, was an Australian rules football club which played in the VFA from 1908 until 1987. The club's colours for most of its time in the VFA were green and yellow and it was based in the Melbourne suburb of Northcote. Darren Kappler
Darren Kappler (born 23 January 1965) is a former professional Australian rules footballer. Recruited from South Australian National Football League club South Adelaide, Kappler played 187 games for Fitzroy, the Sydney Swans and Hawthorn in the Australian Football League. During his AFL career Kappler built a reputation as a talented and damaging long kicking left footed wingman. After retiring from AFL football, Kappler served as playing coach at the Murrumbeena Football Club in the Southern Football League for several seasons before switching first to Canterbury Football Club and currently the Caulfield Football Club. Paddy Guinane
Patrick Guinane (31 January 1939 – 8 December 2019) was an Australian rules football player who played in the Victorian Football League (VFL) between 1958 and 1968 for the Richmond Football Club. Football career ''Paddy'' Guinane was a powerfully built key position player who mainly played as a forward. He was vice-captain of Richmond's 1967 premiership team and was the Club's leading goalkicker in 1966 and 1968. From 1969 he spent two seasons with Victorian Football Association (VFA) 1st division side Dandenong. Invited by his former teammate Tony Jewell in 1971 to join him at Caulfield, Guinane was at centre half forward as the Bears defeated Brunswick in the 1973 VFA's 2nd division grand final. Neville Crowe
Neville Crowe (1 June 1937 – 2 September 2016) was an Australian rules footballer who represented in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the 1950s and 1960s. He also served as club president from 1987 to 1993, and was at the forefront of the '' Save Our Skins'' campaign in 1990, which saved the club from financial ruin. In the 1967 Second Semi-final, Crowe was reported for allegedly striking ruckman John Nicholls, and suspended. He subsequently missed Richmond's drought-breaking premiership victory in the 1967 VFL Grand Final, and announced his retirement shortly afterward. Crowe's "phantom punch" is regarded as one of the most unlucky moments in VFL/AFL history. The 1982 Victorian Football Association season was the 101st season of the top division of the Australian rules football competition, and the 22nd season of second division competition. It was the first season of a restructured two-division competition, in which automatic promotion and relegation between the divisions was abandoned. The 1977 Victorian Football Association season was the 96th season of the top division of the Australian rules football competition, and the 17th season of second division competition. The Division 1 premiership was won by the Port Melbourne Football Club, after it defeated Sandringham in the Grand Final on 25 September by 100 points; it was Port Melbourne's 12th Division 1 premiership, its second in a row, and the third of six premierships won by the club in nine seasons between 1974 and 1982. The Division 2 premiership was won by Mordialloc; it was the first and only Association premiership in either division ever won by the club.
