Castlewood is a city in Hamlin County, South Dakota, Hamlin County, South Dakota, United States. It is part of the Watertown, South Dakota Watertown micropolitan area, Micropolitan Statistical Area. Castlewood, Virginia
Castlewood is a census-designated place (CDP) in Russell County, Virginia, United States. The population was 2,045 at the 2010 census, a small increase from the 2,036 reported in 2000. Castlewood was an incorporated town from 1991 to 1997, when it reverted to unincorporated status. History It was originally named Castle's Wood's, as the land in the immediate area had once belonged to Jacob Castle, a frontiersman in the likes of Daniel Boone. Castle purchased the land from the Shawnee Indians, for very little in trade. It is reported that the purchase was made with the Shawnee Indians for a "hound dog, a knife, and a shot of whiskey. As a "Long Hunter", he spent long periods of time in the wilderness on hunting expeditions. There he befriended the Indians that inhabited the land in the Castlewood area. Castlewood State Park
Castlewood State Park is a public recreation area and Missouri state park occupying which straddle the Meramec River in St. Louis County, Missouri. The most visited section of the state park lies on the north side of the Meramec; the park acreage on the south side of the river is accessed from Lone Elk County Park and includes the World Bird Sanctuary. Castlewood Canyon State Park
Castlewood Canyon State Park is a Colorado state park near Franktown, Colorado. The park retains a unique part of Colorado's history, the remains of Castlewood Canyon Dam. Visitors can still see the remnants and damage from that dam which burst in 1933. The event sent a wave of water all the way to downtown Denver resulting in a flood. Also contained within the park is the historic Cherry Creek Bridge. Castlewood Orb Drive
The Orb Drive is a 3.5-inch removable hard-disk drive introduced by Castlewood Systems in 1999. Its original capacity was 2.2 GB. A later version of the drive was introduced in 2001 with a capacity of 5.7 GB. Manufacturing of this product ceased in 2004. Castlewood Systems The manufacturer of the Orb Drive was Castlewood Systems. It was formed by several former employees of SyQuest Technologies.
