Casey (band)
Casey are a Welsh rock band formed in South Wales, United Kingdom in 2014. The band formed shortly after vocalist Tom Weaver and guitarist Liam Torrance left previous projects, Continents and ''Hot Damn'' respectively. Originally formed as a studio band under the name Well Wisher, Weaver and Torrance later recruited Toby Evans, Max Nicolai, and Scott Edwards, and began producing material with the intention of performing live. After a brief hiatus while Weaver auditioned to join the band Northlane, the name Well Wisher was dropped, and the band relaunched under the name Casey. The name is derived from both Weaver's love of the album ''Casey'' by The Rise of Science, and also Torrance's tribute to the late Hawthorne Heights guitarist, Casey Calvert. Slam Dunk Records or Slam Dunk Music is a British independent record label, promoter and concert organising company, founded in Leeds, England, in 2007. Some notable signees include You Me at Six and Decade. The label evolved from "Slam Dunk", a weekly club night held at the city's Cockpit music venue, centered on emo, punk, ska and metal music. Hawthorne Heights, formerly A Day in the Life, is an American rock band from Dayton, Ohio, formed in 2001. Their lineup currently consists of JT Woodruff (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Matt Ridenour (bass guitar, backing vocals), Mark McMillon (lead guitar, unclean backing vocals), and Chris Popadak (drums, percussion). On November 24, 2007, rhythm guitarist and unclean backing vocalist Casey Calvert died, leaving the band as a four-piece.
