Carlos Martín Díaz del Río (born 9 July 1993) is a Chilean middle-distance runner who competes mainly in the 1500 metres. He holds a Chilean Record of 3:37.86 minutes for the distance. He was the gold medallist in the event at the South American Championships in Athletics in 2015. Díaz rose through the age categories, taking the South American Youth title in 2010, a South American Junior bronze in 2011, then a gold medal at the South American Under-23 Championships in Athletics in 2014. As a senior athlete he is a two-time medallist at the Ibero-American Championships in Athletics and won a bronze at the 2014 Pan American Sports Festival. Carlos Francisco Diaz (born December 24, 1964) is a former Major League Baseball catcher. Diaz played for the Toronto Blue Jays in . He batted and threw right-handed. Diaz attended Oklahoma State University, and in 1984 he played collegiate summer baseball with the Falmouth Commodores of the Cape Cod Baseball League. He was selected by the Blue Jays in the 14th round of the 1986 MLB Draft. Carlos Antonio Diaz (January 7, 1958 – September 28, 2015) was an American Major League Baseball relief pitcher. He played for the Seattle Mariners, Atlanta Braves, New York Mets and Los Angeles Dodgers. Early life and career Born in Kaneohe, Hawaii, Diaz attended James B. Castle High School and was the thirteenth native Hawaiian to have played in the major leagues. He was originally drafted out of Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria, California by the Seattle Mariners in the third round of the 1981 Major League Baseball Draft, but did not sign. Seattle then drafted him again in the first round of the June secondary phase of the draft, and were able to sign him. After two seasons in the Mariners' organization, Diaz was traded to the Atlanta Braves for Jeff Burroughs. Carlos Alberto Díaz (born 15 May 1974) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Puntarenas. Career Díaz, via Boca Juniors, started his career in July 1993 with Argentino of Primera B Metropolitana. The goalkeeper headed to fellow third tier team Deportivo Laferrere in January 1995, remaining for two years. A move to Primera B Nacional soon followed with Atlético Tucumán, though he wouldn't appear competitively for them across 1997 or 1998. Díaz spent the first six months of 1999 back with Laferrere. He took his overall tally of appearances for the club to forty-five during his second spell there. July 1999 saw a return to the second tier with Gimnasia y Tiro. He started his career as a theatre and art critic and only later took on the role of director. His work is often described as unique. Carlos Díaz "Caíto" (1945–2004) was an Argentine singer-songwriter and guitarist who lived in Mexico for most of his career. Biography He was born in 1945 in Mar de Plata, in the Buenos Aires Province and started creating music from the age of eight. At age 15, he entered the Conservatory and started making professional recordings. After touring South America and Europe, he arrived in Mexico in 1977 along with the Uruguayan singer-songwriter Alfredo Zitarrosa. He decided to settle in Mexico City and joined the group Sanampay, which was made up of both Mexican and exiled Argentinian musicians, recording three albums with the group. In 1981, he resumed his solo career, singing songs by Zitarossa, Luis Eduardo Aute and Pablo Milanés in addition to his own compositions. Carlos Enrique Díaz de León was the provisional President of Guatemala from 27 June to 29 June 1954. He was replaced by a military junta led by Elfego Monzón. Carlos Enrique Díaz was previously Chief of the Guatemalan Armed Forces under President Jacobo Árbenz. Early career Díaz had befriended Árbenz while they were both at the military academy. Díaz served in the Guatemalan army, and eventually attained the rank of Colonel. Árbenz and Díaz remained friends after Árbenz became president in 1951, and served as his chief of armed forces. In 1954 the CIA intensified operations against the Árbenz government. During this phase, an attempt was made to bribe Díaz: he was offered 200,000 US dollars to act against Árbenz.
