Capinota
Capinota is a small town in the Bolivian Department of Cochabamba and capital of the Capinota Province. Location ''Capinota'' is situated at an altitude of 2.380 m where the rivers Río Arque and Río Rocha meet to become the Río Caine and the Río Grande downstream. It is located 66 kilometers south of the department capital Cochabamba on the northern river bank of Río Arque, at . Climate The climate is semi-arid with a yearly rainfall average of 500 mm and a temperature average of 18 °C. The dry season lasts from May to September and has lower temperatures but no frost. The rainy season lasts from December to February and is warmer. Population The population is mainly of Quechua and mestizo of origin. Capinota is one of sixteen provinces in the Cochabamba Department, Bolivia. Its capital is the city of Capinota. The province has a projected population over 33,000 inhabitants by 2017. Río Arque
Arque River is one of the headwaters of Río Grande and Mamoré River in Bolivia. Arque River has its source in the Kimsa Cruz mountain range on the western slope of the mountain Waylluma at , 50 km northeast of the mining city Oruro and 65 km southwest of Cochabamba. The river flows 50 km in a southeasterly direction before it turns northeast. At kilometer 58 there is the provincial capital Arque on the northern bank of the river, at kilometer 72 the village Umani on the southern bank, and at kilometer 85 the town of Capinota on the northern bank. The watershed of Arque River comprises 2.224 km². At Capinota, the base flow of the river is 2 to 2.5 m³/s. Cochabamba ( ay, Quchapampa; qu, Quchapampa) is a city and municipality in central Bolivia in a valley in the Andes mountain range.
