Cangshan District (, Fuzhou dialect: Chŏng-săng) is one of 6 urban districts of the prefecture-level city of Fuzhou, the capital of Fujian Province, China. History * Cangshan District was formerly known as "Guatengshan" (literally, "Melon Vine Mountain"), also known as "Tengshan" (literally, "Vine Mountain"), with a watchtower at the top of the mountain. Therefore, it was also called the Yan Tai Mountain (literally, "Smoke Platform Mountain"), named after the Zhongzhou barbette (''Zhongzhou Pao Tai'', literally, "Zhongzhou Cannon Platform"). Saint Dominic's Cathedral, Fuzhou
St. Dominic's Cathedral ( zh, 福州圣多明我主教座堂), locally known as the ''Fanchuanpu Tianzhutang'' (), is located by the Min River, Fuzhou, Fujian, China. It is the seat of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Fuzhou and the Ecclesiastical Province of Fuzhou. History It was first established in the third year of Tongzhi in the Qing dynasty (1864) by the Spanish Dominicans. In 1911, it was erected as the cathedral church of the Archdiocese of Fuzhou. In the 21st year of the Republic of China (1932) the old building was demolished and the present cathedral was begun in an area of 1371.4 square meters that can accommodate 3,000 people. It was known as "The Grandest Church in the South of Yangtze", and it is still the largest Catholic church in Fujian today. Jinshan Temple (Fujian)
Jinshan Temple () is a Buddhist temple located on an island of Wulongjiang River, in Cangshan District of Fuzhou, Fujian, China. It is the only Buddhist temple in the river in China and the only Buddhist temple on the water in Fujian. Plum Blossom
''Prunus mume'' is an East Asian and Southeast Asian tree species classified in the ''Armeniaca'' section of the genus ''Prunus'' subgenus ''Prunus''. Its common names include Chinese plum, Japanese plum, and Japanese apricot. The flower, long a beloved subject in the traditional painting and poetry of East Asia and Vietnam, is usually called plum blossom. This distinct tree species is related to both the plum and apricot trees. Although generally referred to as a plum in English, it is more closely related to the apricot. The Taiwan Strait is a -wide strait separating the island of Taiwan and continental Asia. The strait is part of the South China Sea and connects to the East China Sea to the north. Changle District
