Noguera Pallaresa
The Noguera Pallaresa (; oc, Noguèra Palharesa, ) is a river in Catalonia, Spain. It is named after the Pallars region. Course Its source is at ''Era Font d'era Noguereta'' in the municipality of Naut Aran (Aran Valley) at an elevation of about and barely from those of the Garonne. While the Garonne flows toward the Atlantic Ocean, the Noguera Pallaresa flows to the Segre, and enters that river from the right just before the reservoir of Camarasa ( Noguera): its waters then flow to the Mediterranean. The Noguera Pallaresa is dammed at several points, including Talarn Dam, and the largest reservoirs are La Torassa (between Esterri d'Àneu and La Guingueta d'Àneu in the Pallars Sobirà), Sant Antoni (above Talarn in the Pallars Jussà), Terradets (in the municipality of Àger Àger is a municipality in the ''comarca'' of the Noguera in Catalonia, Spain. Municipalities Of Catalonia
Catalonia is (as of 2018) divided into 947 Municipalities of Spain, municipalities. Each municipality typically represents one significant urban settlement, of any size from village to city, with its surrounding land. This is not always the case, though. Many municipalities have merged as a result of rural depopulation or simply for greater efficiency. Some large urban areas, for example Barcelona, consist of more than one municipality, each of which previously held a separate settlement. The Catalan government encourages mergers of very small municipalities; its "Report on the revision of Catalonia's territorial organisation model" (the ""), published in 2000 but not yet implemented, recommends many such mergers. Larger municipalities may sometimes grant the status of ''minor local entity, decentralised municipal entity'' ( ca, EMD, es, EATIM) to one or more of its settlements, for more effective provision of services or to substitute for its previous status as a separate mun ...

This bridge was destroyed during the Spanish Civil War in the battle of "Cap de Pont" (bridgehead battle in 1938) and rebuilt after the war. Another Gothic building is the Santa Maria Church, in the heights above the city, in line with a quite finely conserved wall dating to the 15th century AD. The historic town is on the right bank of the Segre but, following the Spanish Civil War, construction began on a modern bridge, which initiated development of a moder ...
