Caledonia Reds
Caledonia Reds were a Scottish rugby union professional district team who participated in the Scottish Inter-District Championship and in two seasons of the Heineken Cup. They evolved from one of the traditional four amateur districts of Scotland, North and Midlands, in 1996. Their home games were shared between Aberdeen and Perth. Previous Scottish national coach Frank Hadden once held the assistant coaching position with the Caledonia Reds. In 1998, the SRU took the decision to merge the side with the Glasgow Rugby team, who today are known as the Glasgow Warriors. The Caledonia district still exists: it does not field a side in the United Rugby Championship league, but it does have competitive age grade teams in Inter-District Championships. McDiarmid Park
McDiarmid Park is a stadium in Perth, Scotland, used mainly for association football. It has been the home ground of Scottish Premiership side St Johnstone since its opening in 1989. 1996–97 Heineken Cup
The 1996–97 Heineken Cup was the second edition of the Heineken Cup, an international competition for the top European rugby union clubs. Competing teams from France, Ireland, Italy, Wales and, for the first time, England and Scotland, were divided into four pools of five, with each team playing the other teams once, meaning two home and two away games per team. The pool winners and runners-up qualified for the knock-out stages. The competition was won by a French team for the second time, when Brive beat their English opponents Leicester Tigers 28–9 at the Cardiff Arms Park. Connacht Rugby
Connacht Rugby ( ga, Rugbaí Connachta) is one of the four professional provincial rugby teams from the island of Ireland. Connacht competes in the United Rugby Championship and the European Rugby Champions Cup. The team represents the IRFU Connacht Branch, which is one of four primary branches of the IRFU, and is responsible for rugby union throughout the geographical Irish province of Connacht. Bridgehaugh Park
Bridgehaugh Park is a rugby union ground in Stirling, Scotland, with a capacity of approximately 4,000. It is the home of Stirling County RFC, who currently play in the Scottish Premiership. Fraser Stott
Fraser Stott (born 13 August 1969 in Cambuslang, Scotland) is a former Scottish rugby union player and coach who played for Glasgow Warriors at the Scrum-half position. Rugby Union career Amateur career Starting out as an amateur player he played for Cambuslang RFC until 1988 when he moved to West of Scotland. Matt McGrandles
Matt McGrandles (born 7 October 1973 in Stirling, Scotland) is a Scottish former rugby union player. He played professionally for Glasgow Warriors and at amateur level for Stirling County and Glasgow Hawks normally playing at the Centre position. As a teenager McGrandles played for Stirling County He was part of the Scotland Development XV side that played New South Wales in 1996. Rugby turned professional in Scotland in 1996 and McGrandles was signed by Glasgow Rugby, now Glasgow Warriors, in 1997 from his new club Glasgow Hawks. Tommy Hayes (born 13 December 1973 in Tokoroa, New Zealand) is a Cook Island international rugby union player. He plays as a fly-half. Rugby Union career Amateur career Hayes started off with amateur club Waikato Rangers in New Zealand. As part of the Glasgow Warriors contract Hayes was allowed to play for the amateur side Glasgow Hawks when not on Warriors duty. The former Cook Islands international joined amateur side Moseley RFC for the second half of the 2006/07 season. Newcastle Falcons is a rugby union team that play in Premiership Rugby, England's highest division of rugby union. The club was established in 1877 as the Gosforth Football Club. Around 1882 the club merged with the Northumberland Football Club and briefly assumed their name until 1887.
