CNNIC
The China Internet Network Information Center (), or CNNIC, is the administrative agency responsible for domain registry affairs of .cn under the Cyberspace Administration of China. Founded on 3 June 1997, it is now a government department based in the Zhongguancun high tech district of Beijing. Responsibility areas Domain name registry service CNNIC is responsible for operating and administering China’s domain name registry. CNNIC manages both the ".cn" country code top level domain and the Chinese domain name system (internationalized domain names that contain Chinese characters). As of April 2017, the total number of Chinese domain names was about 21 million. Cyberspace Administration Of China
The Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC; ) is the central internet regulator, censor, oversight, and control agency for the People's Republic of China. The office also holds the administrative title of the party's Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission (). The CAC is the majority owner of the China Internet Investment Fund, which has ownership stakes in technology firms such as ByteDance, Weibo Corporation, SenseTime, and Kuaishou.
