CKOT-FM is a Canadian radio station licensed to Tillsonburg, Ontario, broadcasting at 101.3 FM and serving the London area. Owned by Rogers Sports & Media, the station broadcasts an adult contemporary format. Its transmitter is located near the interchange of Highway 19 and Highway 401 (Exit 218), close to Ingersoll. History CKOT-FM is the second radio station to serve Tillsonburg, Ontario, and is the sister station to the now defunct CKOT and the current operating CJDL-FM. The station's history dates back to 1964. Its owner was the late John B. Lamers (1905-April 17, 1994). His application for a radio station on the FM dial at 106.7 FM was accepted, but he was advised to use the frequency of 100.5 FM instead. The station first aired on October 1, 1965. Its ERP was 1,135 watts. Its studios were in Tillsonburg, while its transmitter was located to the northwest of the town. CJDL-FM (107.3 FM, ''Country 107.3'') is a radio station licensed to Tillsonburg, Ontario. Owned by Rogers Sports & Media, it broadcasts a country format. The station was established in 1955 as the AM station CKOT, before migrating to FM in 2007. It had been operated by the locally-owned Tillsonburg Broadcasting Company until 2017, when it was sold to Rogers Media. History The station was originally licensed on April 26, 1955, and began broadcasts four days later at 1510 AM. The station was owned by John B. Lamers Sr., Ken Orton, and four other shareholders under the name of Tillsonburg Broadcasting Company, Limited. Tillsonburg
Tillsonburg is a town in Oxford County, Ontario, Canada with a population of 18,615 located about 50 kilometres southeast of London, on Highway 3 at the junction of Highway 19. History Prior to European settlement, the present site of Tillsonburg was home to Indigenous tribes. The Tillsonburg Village Site, a 14th century Iroquoian village, was excavated in 2001 and 2008, in the northwest corner of the town, and contained 15 longhouses. The area was settled in 1825 by George Tillson and other immigrants from Enfield, Massachusetts. A forge and sawmill were erected and roads built which led to the establishment of this small community, originally called Dereham Forge. The settlement was on the Big Otter Creek. CHST-FM is a Canadian radio station, broadcasting at 102.3 FM in London, Ontario. The station uses the on-air brand and format ''Jack 102.3''. CHST broadcasts from the CFPL-TV tower in Southwest London. Due to CHST's low ERP relative to some London area radio stations, its broadcast signal covers only Middlesex, Elgin, and Oxford counties. The station's coverage to the west is impeded by co-channel WGRT in Port Huron, Michigan. History Approved by the CRTC in 1999, CHST was launched by CHUM Limited in 2000.
