Vulcan (mythology)
Vulcan (, in archaically retained spelling also ''Volcanus'', both pronounced ) is the god of fire including the fire of volcanoes, deserts, metalworking and the forge in ancient Roman religion and Roman mythology, myth. He is often depicted with a blacksmith's hammer. The Vulcanalia was the annual Roman festival, festival held August 23 in his honor. ''Star Citizen'' is a multiplayer, space trading and combat simulation video game currently under development by Cloud Imperium Games for Windows. An extended retry of unrealized plans for ''Freelancer'' (2003), ''Star Citizen'' is led by director Chris Roberts. Blăjeni () is a commune in Hunedoara County, Transylvania, Romania. It is composed of eight villages: Blăjeni, Blăjeni-Vulcan, Criș, Dragu-Brad, Groșuri, Plai, Reț, and Sălătruc. Ciuruleasa () is a commune located in Alba County, Transylvania, Romania. It has a population of 1,110 as of 2021, and is composed of nine villages: Bidigești, Bodrești, Boglești, Buninginea (''Buninzsina''), Ciuruleasa, Ghedulești, Mătișești, Morărești, and Vulcan. The commune is situated in the northwestern part of the county, on the border with Hunedoara County. RCAF Station Vulcan, also referred to as RCAF Aerodrome Vulcan, was a Second World War flying training station located southwest of the town of Vulcan, Alberta, Canada. It was one of many stations that were established in Canada under the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan. History The Vulcan aerodrome hosted No. 2 Flying Instructor School (FIS), which was formally established at the station on 3 August 1942. However No. 2 FIS started training at RCAF Station Claresholm on 27 April 1942 under the control of No. 15 Service Flying Training School. The aircraft used were Cornells, Cranes, Fawns, Finches, Harvards, Oxfords, Tiger Moths and Ansons. Vulcan, named after the Roman god of fire, is an inactive volcano on the West Mesa near Albuquerque, New Mexico. It is the largest of six volcanoes in the Albuquerque volcanic field within Petroglyph National Monument.
