Tenchi Muyo!
is a Japanese anime, light novel and manga franchise. The original series began with a six-episode Original video animation, OVA called . This original series was created by Masaki Kajishima and directed by Hiroki Hayashi, and it was released in Japan on September 25, 1992. The series was released by Pioneer LDC in the United Kingdom in 1994. As its popularity grew, it spurred a seventh episode titled ''Tenchi Muyo! Special: The Night Before the Carnival'' (also known as the ''Tenchi Special'') and a stand-alone ''Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki#Tenchi Muyo! Mihoshi Special, Tenchi Muyo! Mihoshi Special''. Tenchi Muyo In Love
''Tenchi the Movie: Tenchi in Love!'', also known in Japan as , is a 1996 Japanese animated film and the first of three films set in the ''Tenchi Muyo!'' multi-verse. The film takes place after the conclusion of '' Tenchi Universe'', and so varies from the original OVAs at several points. Most noticeable of these is the inclusion of Achika as Tenchi's mother instead of Kiyone Masaki. It was followed by '' Tenchi Forever!'', released in 1999. Plot After being defeated by the Jurai Emperor and the Galaxy Police centuries ago, the monstrously powerful Super A-1 class criminal Kain was imprisoned in the subspace room of the GP's headquarters, never to be released. Hiroki Hayashi
is a Japanese animator and director associated with AIC. He is best known as the director of the first ''Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki'' OVA series and co-creator of '' El-Hazard''. Biography Hayashi got started in animation on ''ThunderCats'' and '' Silverhawks''. He joined AIC when he was 21 years old. His first anime was '' Gall Force'' in 1987. In 1988 he worked on the storyboard for the fourth OVA episode of ''Bubblegum Crisis'', along with Masaki Kajishima. His first directed title was ''Sol Bianca'' of which he would also be credited for the original concept in the second OVA. In his interview with AIC, he said that ''Sol Bianca'' was originally a game production proposal when it was brought to AIC; he thought it would make a good OVA, and created the story base for the series. Masaki Kajishima
Masaki Kajishima (梶島 正樹 ''Kajishima Masaki'', born March 16, 1962) is a Japanese animator and storyboard artist who works for AIC in a freelance capacity. He is best known as the creator of ''Tenchi Muyo!'' and ''Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventure''. Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventure
is a Japanese anime series animated by AIC and created by Masaki Kajishima, best known for the '' Tenchi Muyo!'' franchise. It was originally broadcast on Wowow from April to July 1999 and was licensed in the US by Pioneer LDC, later known as Geneon. In addition to the original TV run, an OVA special was added to conclude the series as a de facto "14th episode". The title refers to the fact that the story takes place in two parallel universes, a concept loosely based on multiverse theory.
