The Government of Selangor, officially the State Government of Selangor, refers to the government authority of the States and federal territories of Malaysia, Malaysian state of Selangor. The state government adheres to and is created by both the Constitution of Malaysia, Malaysian federal Constitution, the supreme law of Malaysia, and the Constitution of the State of Selangor, the supreme law in Selangor. The government of Selangor is based in the state's capital city of Shah Alam. The state government consists of only two branches – executive and legislative. The Selangor State Executive Council forms the executive branch, whilst the Selangor State Legislative Assembly is the legislature of the state government. Shah Alam
Shah Alam (, from Persian language, Persian, meaning "king of the world") is a city and the state capital of Selangor, Malaysia which is situated within the Petaling District and a small portion of the neighbouring Klang District. 2023 Selangor State Election
The 15th Selangor state election were held on 12 August 2023 to elect the State Assembly members of the 15th Selangor State Legislative Assembly, the legislature of the Malaysian state of Selangor. Selangor is one of the states which did not dissolve simultaneously with Dewan Rakyat on 10 October 2022. It was decided by Pakatan Harapan on 15 October 2022. The Barisan Nasional (BN) – Pakatan Harapan (PH) electoral pact won the election by capturing 34 of 56 seats, with PH winning a standalone majority of 32 seats and BN winning 2 seats. The Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition won the remaining 22 seats to become the main opposition in the state assembly. Mohd Najwan bin Halimi ( Jawi: نجوان حليمي; born 8 May 1985) is a Malaysian politician who has served as Member of the Selangor State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) state administration under Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari since August 2023 and Member of the Selangor State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Kota Anggerik since May 2018.
