Frisange (; , ) is a commune and town in southern Luxembourg. It is part of the canton of Esch-sur-Alzette. , the town of Frisange, which lies in the north of the commune, has a population of 2,388. Gaston Gibéryen
Gaston "Gast" Gibéryen (born 29 June 1950 in Born, Luxembourg, Born) is a Luxembourgish politician for the Alternative Democratic Reform Party (ADR) and trade unionist. He was a member of the Chamber of Deputies of Luxembourg, Chamber of Deputies and represented the Circonscription Sud (Luxembourg), Sud constituency from 1989 Luxembourg general election, 1989 to 2020. He was the leader of the ADR group in the Chamber. Gibéryen was mayor of Frisange from 1982 until 2005, having previously been an Échevin (Luxembourg), alderman in the Communes of Luxembourg, commune (1976–1981). Gil Linster (born November 3, 1993) is a Luxembourgish professional stock car racing driver who competes part-time in the NASCAR Euro Series driving the No. 30 Ford for Rette Jones Racing. He has previously competed in the ARCA Menards Series. Racing career In 2017, Linster ran full-time in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series Elite 2, driving the No. 44 Chevrolet for CAAL Racing, where he finished ninth in the standings with a best finish of fourth at the season ending race at Circuit Zolder. He returned with the team the following year, where he finished fifth in the standings with a best finish of fifth at Tours Speedway. After not competing in the series for the next two years, Linster returned to the series in 2021, driving the No. 77 Chevrolet for DF1 Racing at Autodrom Most, Automotodrom Grobnik, and Zolder, where he earned a best finish of fifth at the second Most race. Esch-sur-Alzette (canton)
Esch-sur-Alzette () is a canton in southwestern Luxembourg. It is both the second most populous and second most densely populated canton after the canton of Luxembourg. It borders Belgium & France. History Like the other cantons of Luxembourg, the canton of Esch dates back to 31 August 1795. However, it was created under the name of the canton of Soleuvre. This term was of short duration since, already on 22 October 1796, a new decree renamed it the canton of Bascharage. Bascharage canton was less spread-out than the current canton of Esch since Leudelange, Pontpierre, Bettembourg and Dudelange belonged to the canton of Hesperange, created to the south of the capital. Robert Alesch
Robert Alesch (6 March 1906 – 25 January 1949) was a Catholic priest and collaborator with Nazi Germany during the Second World War. Biography Alesch was born 6 March 1906 in Aspelt, Luxembourg. He claimed that his father was a Lorraine French patriot, who was tortured by the Germans in 1917. Priesthood Alesch relocated to Freiburg to study theology and was ordained in 1933 and settled in France in 1935. He was named vicar at La Varenne-Saint-Hilaire, parish of Saint-Maur, in the Paris region. From the beginning of the Nazi occupation, he passed himself off as an opponent of the Germans, particularly during his Sunday sermons. He saw the occupation, however, as an opportunity to earn money and offered his service to the Abwehr in 1941. Collaboration with the Nazis Alesch became an agent of the ''Abwehr'', German intelligence organization.
