Cromane
Cromane () is a village located in County Kerry, Ireland. It is west of Killorglin town and a similar distance to the village of Glenbeigh when travelling south-west. Location Cromane is located in the centre of Kerry with views of the Dingle Peninsula to the north and the Iveragh Peninsula westwards. Cromane is one of the few locations in Kerry where there is a 360-degree view of the Brandon Mountain Range, the Sliabh Mis Mountains and MacGillycuddy's Reeks, home to Ireland's highest mountain Corrán Tuathail. Cromane GAA
Réalt na Mara, Cromane, is a Gaelic Athletic Association Gaelic football, football club from the village of Cromane, County Kerry, Ireland. Cromane play football in maroon and white colours. The club fields teams from under-8 to senior level. The club's name is derived from the village's church, also called Réalt na Mara (Star of the Sea in English). The local national school also carries the same name. There was a club in Cromane in the mid-1950s. In 1954, Pat O'Shea played for the Kerry minors as a Cromane player. Donnchadh Walsh
Donnchadh Walsh (born 3 July 1984) is an Irish Gaelic footballer. He is a midfielder and forward and plays for his local Cromane club, the Mid Kerry divisional side and, formerly, at senior level for the Kerry county team, which he played for from 2003 to 2018. Playing career Minor Walsh was described as a 'star' and a 'teen sensation' for Kerry in the All-Ireland Minor Football Championship. He won the Munster Minor Football Championship with Kerry in 2001 and 2002. Under 21 He later moved on to the Kerry Under 21 team. Seán O'Sullivan (footballer)
Seán O'Sullivan is an Irish sportsman who played Gaelic football for the Kerry senior football team and at club level with Cromane GAA club. Playing career Underage O'Sullivan played with the Kerry minor team in 1998. Wins over Waterford after a re-play and Limerick seen him win a Munster Minor Football Championship medal. O'Sullivan and co lost out to Laois in the All-Ireland semi-final. Senior O'Sullivan won his first All-Ireland Senior Football Championship in 2006, after a comprehensive victory over Mayo side in the final on 17 September 2006, in Croke Park. Seán had an exceptional season, being responsible for many of the passes which made Kieran Donaghy a real threat to defences in 2006. 2007 was another successful year for O'Sullivan and Kerry. Killorglin
Killorglin () is a town in County Kerry, Ireland. As of the 2022 census, the town's population was 2,163. Killorglin is on the Ring of Kerry tourist route, and annual events include the August Puck Fair festival, which starts with the crowning and parading of a "king" wild goat. The town is 26 km south of Tralee along the N70 road, and 22 km west of Killarney along the N72 road. Killorglin is in a civil parish of the same name. History Origins and development The earliest evidence of ancient settlement in the Killorglin area is the presence of prehistoric rock art. These rock carvings are part of a Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age tradition stretching across Atlantic Europe and occur in concentrations around the Iveragh and Dingle peninsulas, with a cluster close to the nearby town of Glenbeigh. Mount Brandon
Mount Brandon or Brandon (), at , is one of the ten highest peaks in Ireland, being the 8th–highest peak in Ireland on the Arderin list, and the 9th–highest on the Vandeleur-Lynam list. Brandon is the highest Irish mountain outside the MacGillycuddy's Reeks range and has the greatest prominence of any Irish peak except Carrauntoohil, Ireland's highest mountain. Mount Brandon is at the centre of a long high ridge called the Brandon Group range of mountains in the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry. The ridge contains seven other major peaks (i.e. above 2,000 ft in height); one is the similarly named Brandon Peak (840 metres). The positioning and dimensions of the Brandon Group ridge have made it the scene of several air accidents over the years. The All-Ireland Senior Football Championship (SFC) () is the premier inter-county competition in Gaelic football. County (Gaelic games), County teams compete against each other and the winner is declared All-Ireland Champions. Carrauntoohil, Carrauntoohill or Carrantuohill ( ; , meaning "Tuathal's sickle") is the Lists of mountains in Ireland, highest mountain in Ireland at . MacGillycuddy's Reeks () is a sandstone and siltstone mountain range in the Iveragh Peninsula in County Kerry, Ireland. Stretching , from the Gap of Dunloe in the east, to Glencar, County Kerry, Glencar in the west, the Reeks is Ireland's highest mountain range, and includes most of the highest peaks and sharpest ridges in Ireland, and the only peaks on the island over in height. Near the centre of the range is Carrauntoohil, Ireland's highest mountain at .
