Covered In Blood (Arch Enemy Album)
''Covered in Blood'' is a compilation album by Arch Enemy, featuring all 24 covers the band recorded and released from 1996 until 2019. This is the only official Arch Enemy release that features all three lead vocalists that the band has had – Johan Liiva, Angela Gossow and Alissa White-Gluz. Background Starting with their debut album (1996's '' Black Earth''), Arch Enemy have regularly recorded two or more covers as bonus tracks for deluxe versions of their albums. Most of these tracks were exclusive to physical copies of the albums, and Covered in Blood is the first time they are available on streaming platforms. The album features all covers the band had, at that point, recorded in their entire career. Tracks 1, 2 and 11 were originally bonus tracks of ''Will to Power''. Arch Enemy is a Swedish melodic death metal band, originally a Supergroup (music), supergroup from Halmstad, formed in 1995. Its members were in bands such as Carcass (band), Carcass, Armageddon (Swedish band), Armageddon, Carnage (band), Carnage, Mercyful Fate, Spiritual Beggars, The Agonist, Nevermore, and Eucharist (band), Eucharist. It was founded by Carcass (band), Carcass guitarist Michael Amott along with Johan Liiva, who were both originally from the death metal band Carnage (band), Carnage. Dead Eyes See No Future
''Dead Eyes See No Future'' is the second EP by Swedish melodic death metal band Arch Enemy. It was released on 2 November 2004 through Century Media Records. The title track is taken from Arch Enemy's ''Anthems of Rebellion'' album. "Burning Angel", "We Will Rise" and "Heart of Darkness" are live tracks from a concert at Elysée Montmartre in Paris on 27 February 2004. The studio versions of "Burning Angel" and "Heart of Darkness" can be found on Arch Enemy's ''Wages of Sin'' album. The studio version of "We Will Rise" is on the band's ''Anthems of Rebellion'' album. "Symphony of Destruction" is a Megadeth cover, "Kill With Power" is a Manowar cover, and "Incarnated Solvent Abuse" is a Carcass cover. The EP also features a video for "We Will Rise". "Breaking the Law" is a song by English heavy metal band Judas Priest, originally released on their 1980 album '' British Steel''. The song is one of the band's better known singles, and is readily recognized by its opening guitar riff. Composition Prior to releasing 1980's '' British Steel'', Judas Priest had been making moves toward streamlining their music into a simpler, less processed sound. That approach came to full fruition on ''British Steel''. "Breaking the Law" combines a recognisable minor-key opening riff and a rhythmic chorus as its main hooks. There is a change-up on the mostly instrumental bridge, a new chord progression with Rob Halford shouting "You don't know what it's like!" before the sound effect of a police car's siren leads back into the main riff. "Shadow on the Wall" is a single by musician Mike Oldfield, released in 1983 by Virgin Records. Pretty Maids is a Danish Heavy metal music, heavy metal band from Horsens. Formed in 1981 by Ken Hammer, and completed with Ronnie Atkins in 1982, their sound and music can be described as classic guitar-laden heavy rock with a strong emphasis on melody. Over the years, Pretty Maids have sold hundreds of thousands of records, but have never broken through in a major way, except in Japan during the 1990s. They have supported well known bands such as Black Sabbath, Whitesnake, Deep Purple, Alice Cooper, and Saxon (band), Saxon, and were also featured at the 1987 Germany, German version of Monsters of Rock, where Metallica headlined along with Deep Purple.
