''Gravity's Rim'' is the fifth studio album by the American experimental music band Vampire Rodents, released on May 14, 1996, by Fifth Colvmn Records. Music and lyrics ''Gravity's Rim'' returns to the pop format of the band's earlier albums as well as a more jazz oriented sound similar to Daniel Vahnke's Ether Bunny project. There are fewer guest vocalists compared to the previous album, with the focus shifting back to Vahnke's vocals and lyrics. Former collaborators contributed their vocals to the music, including Maria Azevedo, Boom chr Paige, Dave Creadeau, Mark Edwards and Jared Louche. Spahn Ranch vocalist Athan Maroulis also contributed vocals to four songs. Daniel was so pleased with Maria Azevedo's contributions that he considered starting a separate project with her band Battery. Vampire Rodents
Vampire Rodents was a sound collage and experimental music ensemble based out of Phoenix, Arizona, Phoenix, Arizona, although its core members originally came from Canada. The creative nucleus of the project comprised vocalist and composer Daniel Vahnke and keyboardist Victor Wulf. Victor Wulf
Victor Wulf is a Canadian keyboard player and composer. He is recognized for his solo ambient music project Dilate and as a founding member of sound collage band Vampire Rodents. Biography Victor Wulf was involved in composing music for television since 1977. In June 1989, Wulf and Vahnke founded Vampire Rodents, a project that incorporated elements of industrial rock and sound collage. The duo released three albums: '' War Music'' (1990), ''Premonition'' (1992) and '' Lullaby Land'' (1993). During this time, Wulf was primary influenced by Can, Bernard Herrmann, John Zorn and big band music. Wulf became less involved in the writing process with each album and he decided to leave Vampire Rodents after the release of ''Lullaby Land''.
