Connolly Park is a GAA stadium in Collooney, County Sligo, Ireland. It is the home ground of the Owenmore Gaels GAA club. The Sligo county football team have contested National Football League fixtures there when their home ground Markievicz Park has been unavailable. Sligo were relegated from the league here in 2019. Collooney or Coloony () is a town in County Sligo, Ireland. Toponymy Collooney is thought to derive from . Reverend Terrence O'Rorke has previously also suggested ''Culmaine'', as Collooney is designated this way in such works as the ''Annals of the Four Masters'', ''Dudley M'Firlis'', and O'Flaherty's "Chorographical description of West Connaught"; he further suggests "Angle of the Whirlpool" from the confluence of the ''Uncion'' and ''Owenmore'' as the most likely origin of the name. Owenmore Gaels is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based within the parish of Collooney and Kilvarnet ( Ballinacarrow) in County Sligo, Ireland. Its origins date back to the formation of the GAA in Sligo in 1885, when the Collooney Fontenoys club was formed. Sligo railway station, also known as MacDiarmada station (), is a mainline railway station which serves the town of Sligo in County Sligo, Ireland. It is a terminal station which now has two platforms and an intermediate carriage siding. The Sligo County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) () or Sligo GAA is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland, and is responsible for Gaelic games in County Sligo. The county board is also responsible for the Sligo county teams. The county football team plays in the Connacht Senior Football Championship but has only won three senior provincial titles, in 1928, 1975 and 2007. Sligo has never appeared in an All-Ireland final. Markievicz Park () is the principal GAA stadium in County Sligo, Ireland, home to the Sligo Gaelic football and hurling teams.
