Connecticut Statistical Areas
The U.S. currently has nine statistical areas that have been delineated by the Office of Management and Budget The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is the largest office within the Executive Office of the President of the United States (EOP). The office's most prominent function is to produce the president's budget, while it also examines agency pro ... (OMB). On July 21, 2023, the OMB delineated two combined statistical areas, five metropolitan statistical areas, and two micropolitan statistical areas in Connecticut. Southeastern Connecticut Planning Region, Connecticut
The Southeastern Connecticut Planning Region is a planning region and county-equivalent in Connecticut. It is served by the coterminous Southeastern Connecticut Council of Governments (SCCOG). In 2022, planning regions were approved to replace Connecticut's counties as county-equivalents for statistical purposes, with full implementation occurring by 2024. Demographics As of the 2020 United States census, there were 280,430 people living in the Southeastern Planning Region.
