Compuware Corporation was an American software company based in Detroit. The company offered products aimed at the information technology (IT) departments of large businesses, and its services also included testing, development, automation and performance management software for programs running on mainframe computer systems. History In 1973, Peter Karmanos Jr., Thomas Thewes, and Allen B. Cutting established Compuware Corporation to provide clients with professional technical services. By 1978, Compuware opened its first remote office to service the Washington, D.C., and Baltimore area. One Campus Martius
One Campus Martius is a building located in downtown Detroit, Michigan. It began construction in 2000 and was finished in 2003. It has seventeen floors in total, fifteen above-ground, and two below-ground, and has of office space. The high-rise was built as an office building with a restaurant, retail units, space for Compuware and a fitness center, as well as an Atrium (architecture), atrium. The building now has Rocket Mortgage, Microsoft, Meridian Health, Plante Moran and Compuware as its major tenants. The building was constructed in the late-modernist architectural style, using glass, granite and limestone as its main materials. Peter Karmanos Jr. (born March 11, 1943) is an American businessman who was most recently the minority owner and alternate governor of the Carolina Hurricanes franchise until June 30, 2021. He served as their principal owner from 1994 (when the Hurricanes were the Hartford Whalers) to 2018. He also owned the Plymouth Whalers junior ice hockey club from its establishment in 1990 until 2015, and was the majority owner of the Florida Everblades from 1998 to 2019. Thomas Thewes
Thomas Thewes (December 9, 1931 – September 28, 2008) was an American entrepreneur and businessman. He was vice chairman and a co-founder of Compuware Corporation along with Peter Karmanos and Allen Cutting. Thewes was a co-owner of three hockey teams, including the Carolina Hurricanes (NHL), the Plymouth Whalers ( OHL), and the Florida Everblades (ECHL). He won the Stanley Cup with the Hurricanes in 2006. Thewes was a graduate of the University of Detroit. He and his wife, Beverly, resided in metropolitan Detroit and had six children. Thewes was a benefactor to several philanthropic interests.
