Colonial History Of The United States
The colonial history of the United States covers the period of European colonization of the Americas, European colonization of North America from the late 15th century until the unifying of the Thirteen Colonies, Thirteen British Colonies and creation of the United States in 1776, during the American Revolutionary War, Revolutionary War. In the late 16th century, Kingdom of England, England, Kingdom of France, France, Habsburg Spain, Spain, and the Dutch Republic launched major colonization expeditions in North America. The death rate was very high among early immigrants, and some early attempts disappeared altogether, such as the English Roanoke Colony#Lost Colony, Lost Colony of Roanoke. Letter case is the distinction between the letters that are in larger uppercase or capitals (more formally ''#Majuscule, majuscule'') and smaller lowercase (more formally ''#Minuscule, minuscule'') in the written representation of certain languages.
