''Closure'' is the first video album by American industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails, released on November 25, 1997. The double VHS set consists of one tape of live concert and behind-the-scenes footage from their Self-Destruct and Further Down the Spiral tours and one tape of music videos. The first cassette's footage highlights tour footage and backstage antics by Nine Inch Nails and their tour guests: Marilyn Manson, Jim Rose Circus and David Bowie. One segment, in particular, is dedicated to Reznor's penchant at the time for violently destroying keyboards and other tour equipment each show, which was directed by Jonathan Rach. The music videos on the second cassette are interspersed with snippets from educational films, as well as exclusive footage shot by Peter Christopherson which is reminiscent of the video for " Closer"; these segments include remixed music from the band's back catalogue, most prominently featuring "A Warm Place" and "The Art of Self Destruction, Final ... Nine Inch Nails
Nine Inch Nails, commonly abbreviated as NIN (stylized as NIИ), is an American industrial rock band formed in Cleveland, Ohio in 1988. Its members are the singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Trent Reznor and his frequent collaborator, Atticus Ross. Reznor was previously the only permanent member of the band until Ross became an official member in 2016. The band's debut album, ''Pretty Hate Machine'' (1989), was released via TVT Records. After disagreements with TVT in regard to how the album would be promoted, the band signed with Interscope Records and released the EP Broken (Nine Inch Nails EP), ''Broken'' (1992). "Wish" is a song by American industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails from their debut EP '' Broken'' (1992). It was released in 1992 as a promotional single from the EP. The drumming on the track was performed by Martin Atkins. "Wish" was remixed twice for the companion disc to the EP, '' Fixed'', as "Wish (Remix)" and "Fist Fuck". Both remixes were produced by J. G. Thirlwell. "Wish" won the Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in 1993. Referencing a lyric from the song, Trent Reznor later joked that his epitaph should read: "REZNOR: Died. "Down in It" is the debut single by American industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails, released on September 15, 1989. Taken from the band's debut album ''Pretty Hate Machine'', it was the first song ever written by frontman Trent Reznor. Production Reznor, Keith LeBlanc and Adrian Sherwood had completed production on the 12-inch single of "Down In It" by June 1989. The outro contains lyrics referencing the nursery rhyme "Rain Rain Go Away". Release Initially released only on vinyl, a CD version of the single was later created after the success of the album. The first track on the single edition, "Down in It (Skin)", is the mix found on ''Pretty Hate Machine''. "Piggy" is a song by American industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails from their second studio album, ''The Downward Spiral'' (1994). It was written by Trent Reznor, co-produced by Flood, and recorded at Le Pig (10050 Cielo Drive). It was released in December 1994 as a promotional single from the album. The song is known for being Reznor's only live drumming performance. Recording Reznor wrote the song after the extended play '' Broken'' (1992) was completed. It was initially a poem which he expanded into a full song. On July 4, 1992, he later moved to a house—famous for its status as the site of the gruesome Tate murders—and created a studio space there, calling it Le Pig. Russell Mills (born 1952, Ripon, Yorkshire, England) is a British artist. He has produced record covers and book covers for Brian Eno, the Cocteau Twins, Michael Nyman, David Sylvian, Peter Gabriel, and Nine Inch Nails. As a recording artist, he has collaborated with musicians including David Sylvian, Ian McCulloch and Peter Gabriel. ''Broken'' (informally known as ''The Broken Movie'') is a 1993 horror musical short film and long-form music video filmed and directed by Peter Christopherson. It is based on an idea by Trent Reznor, founder of industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails, and is a companion piece to the 1992 Nine Inch Nails EP '' Broken''. The film features songs from ''Broken'' and is essentially a compilation of its music videos (the exception being "Last" and the two hidden tracks). The film, just 20 minutes in length, weaves the album's four music videos together via a violent "snuff film" framing sequence, concluding with an otherwise unreleased video for the EP's final song " Gave Up" to set the conclusion of the film's frame story to the song. Peter Christopherson
Peter Martin Christopherson (also known as Sleazy; 27 February 1955 – 25 November 2010) was an English musician, video director, commercial artist, designer and photographer, who was at one time a member of design agency Hipgnosis. He also co-founded the Industrial Records band Throbbing Gristle (TG). After the disbandment of Throbbing Gristle, he participated in the formation of Psychic TV along with Genesis P-Orridge and Geoff Rushton—Rushton later changed his name to John Balance. After his short time in Psychic TV, Christopherson formed Coil with Balance, which lasted for just under 23 years, until Balance died of a fall in the Weston-super-Mare home he shared with Christopherson. Christopherson participated in the reunification of Throbbing Gristle and, after his relocation to Thailand in 2005, composed an album for his solo endeavour The Threshold HouseBoys Choir.
