Christopher Columbus Andrews (October 27, 1829 – September 21, 1922) was an American soldier, diplomat, newspaperman, author, and forester. Early life and career Andrews was born in Hillsborough, New Hampshire, the son of a rural farmer. ''Living Dead'', also informally known as ''Of the Dead'' is a blanket term for the loosely connected horror franchise that originated from the 1968 film ''Night of the Living Dead''. The film, written by George A. Romero and John A. Russo, primarily focuses on a group of people gathering at a farmhouse to survive from an onslaught of zombies in rural Pennsylvania. Christopher Frederick Andrews (born 15 October 1942) is a British-German singer-songwriter and producer whose musical career started in the late 1950s. His biggest hits as a solo artist include "To Whom It Concerns", "Yesterday Man" (a UK no. 3) and "Pretty Belinda". Between 1965 and 1970, across five countries, thirteen of his songs reached number one. ''Joey'' is a 1986 film written and directed by Joseph Ellison, based on a story by Ellen Hammill. The rock and roll movie features songs by Tim Worman and the Polecats, The Ramones and Electric Light Orchestra and performances by the Ad-Libs, the Silhouettes, Screamin' Jay Hawkins and others. Sir Christopher Howard Andrewes (7 June 1896 – 31 December 1988) was a British virologist who discovered the human influenza A virus in 1933. Education The son of noted bacteriologist and physician, Frederick William Andrewes, Christopher Andrewes was educated at Highgate School and later studied medicine at St Bartholomew's Hospital. Career He served in the Royal Navy as a surgeon during World War I. In 1927 he joined the scientific staff of the National Institute for Medical Research to assist Patrick Laidlaw in developing a vaccine against canine distemper. This led on to research on influenza and the discovery of the causative virus in 1933 and subsequent vaccine development.
