Christian Gow
Christian Gow (born March 28, 1993) is a former Canadian biathlete. Gow is the younger brother of Canadian biathlete Scott Gow, competing alongside each other representing Canada at World Championships and both the 2018 and 2022 Winter Olympics. Career In January 2018, Gow was named to Canada's 2018 Olympic team. In January 2022, Gow was named to Canada's 2022 Olympic team. Biathlon At The 2022 Winter Olympics
Biathlon at the 2022 Winter Olympics was held at the National Biathlon Centre, in the Zhangjiakou cluster of competition venues, north of Beijing, at an elevation of , from 5 to 18 February 2022. A total of 210 quota spots (110 per gender) were distributed to the sport, a decline of 20 from the 2018 Winter Olympics. A total of 11 events were contested, five for men, five for women and one mixed. Qualification A total quota of 210 athletes are allowed at the Games (105 both men and women). The first 93 quota allocations, per gender, will be assigned using a combination of the Nation Cup scores of their top 3 athletes in their best six sprints, one individual, three relays, one mixed relay, and one single mixed relay. It is treated as a race, with contestants skiing through a cross-country trail whose distance is divided into shooting rounds. The Biathlon World Championships 2021 took place in Pokljuka, Slovenia, from 9 to 21 February 2021. Host selection On 4 September 2016, Tyumen won the voting (25 votes) during the 12th IBU Congress in Chisinau in Moldova over Pokljuka in Slovenia (13 votes) and Nové Město na Moravě in the Czech Republic (11 votes). Also Antholz-Anterselva, Italy, withdrew their bid for 2021 championships before the vote took place due to winning of an election for the host of the 2020 event. The Biathlon World Championships 2020 took place in Rasen-Antholz, Italy, from 12 to 23 February 2020. Host selection On 4 September 2016, Antholz-Anterselva won the voting (30 votes) during the twelfth IBU Congress in Chișinău over Pokljuka (15 votes) and Oberhof, Germany (four votes).
