Chris Geoghegan
Christopher Vincent Geoghegan (born 13 June 1954) is a former board member of BAE Systems (2002–07) and president of the Society of British Aircraft Constructors. He was educated at Bishop Henshaw Senior High School in Rochdale, Lancashire and gained a degree in Business Studies from Manchester Polytechnic. Geoghegan joined a predecessor of BAE in 1973. In 1998 he was seconded to Airbus Industrie, 20% owned by British Aerospace. In April 2000 he returned to BAE Systems to head BAE Systems Avionics. Following the shock resignation of BAE CEO John Weston in early 2002, Geoghegan was promoted to joint chief operating officer. He replaced Mike Turner who was himself promoted to CEO to replace Weston. With effect from January 2007 Geoghegan and his co-COO were replaced by Ian King. Ian Graham King (born 24 April 1956) is a British businessman who was the CEO of BAE Systems from 2008 to 2017. Until 20 June 2014 he was a non-executive director of Rotork plc. He is currently Chairman of Senior plc. Career BAE Systems was created by a merger of Marconi Electronic Systems and British Aerospace. King joined BAE from Marconi. ''The Independent'' is a British online newspaper. It was established in 1986 as a national morning printed paper. Nicknamed the ''Indy'', it began as a broadsheet and changed to tabloid format in 2003. The last printed edition was published on Saturday 26 March 2016, leaving only the online edition. Michael Turner (businessman)
Michael John Turner CBE (born 5 August 1948) is the former chief executive officer (CEO) of the aerospace and defence company BAE Systems, and current chairman of Babcock International and prior to the hostile takeover by Melrose was chairman of GKN plc. Early life He attended Didsbury Technical High School (became Wilbraham High School in 1965) on School Lane in Didsbury. He gained a BA from Manchester Polytechnic in 1970, whilst working for Hawker Siddeley Aviation which he joined in 1966. Career Turner replaced the previous CEO at BAE Systems plc, John Weston, in March 2002 who was dismissed.
