Chorizema Carinatum
''Chorizema carinatum'' is a species of flowering plant in the family Fabaceae and is endemic to the southwest of Western Australia. It is an erect or spreading shrub with sharply-pointed leaves and bright yellow flowers. Description ''Chorizema carinatum'' is an erect or spreading shrub that typically grows to a height of . The leaves are scattered, leathery, oblong or lance-shaped and up to long with a small, rigid, sharply-pointed, down-turned tip on the ends. The flowers are arranged on the ends of branches in racemes long, each flower on a short pedicel. The sepals are long and silky-hairy, the petals yellow and often barely longer than the sepals. Flowering occurs from October to December. Taxonomy This species was first formally described in 1844 by Carl Meissner who gave it the name ''Callistachys carinata'' in Lehmann's ''Plantae Preissianae'' from specimens collected in Kent in 1840. South Coast Highway
South Coast Highway is a Western Australian highway. It is a part of the Highway 1 network. With a length of , it runs from Esperance to Walpole roughly in parallel to Western Australia's south coast. Even then the journey is pretty much inland. Approximately from Ravensthorpe lies the Fitzgerald River National Park with beaches, coastal and mountain walking trails and wildflowers. There are three more national parks with abundant wildlife along the journey to Walpole. Albany is a former whaling town and is rich in history. The Shire of Kent is a local government area in the Great Southern region of Western Australia, about southeast of Perth, the state capital. The Shire covers an area of and its seat of government is the town of Nyabing. The area produces grains such as wheat, barley and legumes. History The Kent Road District was established on 22 December 1922. It was renamed the Nyabing-Pingrup Road District on 10 June 1955. It was declared a shire as the Shire of Nyabing-Pingrup with effect from 1 July 1961 following the passage of the ''Local Government Act 1960'', which reformed all remaining road districts into shires. Fabales is an order of flowering plants included in the rosid group of the eudicots in the Angiosperm Phylogeny Group II classification system.
