"Chizhyk-Pyzhik" (russian: Чи́жик-Пы́жик) is a Russian satirical folk song which runs as follows: Чижик-пыжик, где ты был? На Фонтанке водку пил. Выпил рюмку, выпил две – Закружилось в голове. Chizhik-Pyzhik, gdje ty byl? Na fontankje vodku pil. Vypil rjumku, vypil dvje – Zakruzhilosj v golovje. Chizhik-Pyzhik, where've you been? Drank vodka on the Fontanka. Took a shot, took another – Got dizzy. The origin of the song in unclear. According to one urban legend, the rhyme refers to the students of the Imperial School of Jurisprudence, who frequented a pub belonging to the merchant Nefedov on the Fontanka Quay in Saint Petersburg. The school was founded by Duke Peter of Oldenburg in the nearby house #6. Eurasian Siskin
The Eurasian siskin (''Spinus spinus'') is a small passerine bird in the finch family Fringillidae. It is also called the European siskin, common siskin or just siskin. Other (archaic) names include ''black-headed goldfinch'', ''barley bird'' and ''aberdevine''. It is very common throughout Europe and Eurosiberia. It is found in forested areas, both coniferous and mixed woodland where it feeds on seeds of all kinds, especially of alder and conifers. It can be distinguished from other similar finches by the colour of the plumage. The upper parts are greyish green and the under parts grey-streaked white. Revaz "Rezo" Gabriadze ( ka, რევაზ ��ეზოგაბრიაძე; 29 June 1936 – 6 June 2021) was a Georgian theatre and film director, playwright, writer, painter, and sculptor. His son, Levan Gabriadze, is also an actor and film director. Gabriadze graduated from the Higher Scriptwriters' Courses in Moscow and worked as a correspondent for the newspaper ''Youth of Georgia''. He began working as a screenwriter for director Georgiy Daneliya and co-wrote some of his most popular films, including '' Mimino'' and '' Kin-dza-dza!'' Imperial School Of Jurisprudence
The Imperial School of Jurisprudence (Russian: Императорское училище правоведения) was, along with the Page Corps, a school for boys in Saint Petersburg, the capital of the Russian Empire. The school for would-be imperial administrators was founded by Duke Peter of Oldenburg in 1835. The classes were accommodated in six buildings along the Fontanka Quay. The premises were renovated in 1893–95 and 1909–10, when the main building acquired its cupola. After the October Revolution of 1917, the school was disbanded, but its memory survives in the nursery rhyme about Chizhik-Pyzhik. Among the instructors were lawyers of Imperial Russia, such as Anatoly Koni and Włodzimierz Spasowicz. Boys studied in the school for six or seven years. Čížečku, čížečku ("Siskin, o Little Siskin") is a traditional Czech children's folk song and a singing game which was performed in the past as an annual custom supposed to enhance the yield of poppy. The First Engineer Bridge (russian: Первый Инженерный мост, ''Pervy Inzhenerny most'') is one of several Russian bridges that span the Moika River in Saint Petersburg. Andrei Georgiyevich Bitov (russian: Андре́й Гео́ргиевич Би́тов, 27 May 1937 – 3 December 2018) was a prominent Russian writer of Circassian ancestry. Biography Bitov was born in Leningrad. His father was an architect and his mother was a lawyer. He completed his secondary education in 1954 and began writing two years later.
