Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center (CGHMC) (), also known as the Chinese General Hospital, is a district general hospital and teaching hospital in Manila, Philippines. It is one of the oldest hospitals in the Philippines, founded during the Spanish occupation of the country from donations of Chinese immigrants. The hospital's operations is supported by the Philippine Chinese Charitable Association (PCCA), founded in 1878 when the Chinese community was established in Manila. History Capitán Carlos L. Palanca ''(Tan Chue-Co)'', with wealthy Chinese businessmen Engracio Palanca ''Tan Kang'', and Mariano Velasco ''Chua Cheng-co'' did a fund-raising in 1891 for the construction of a medical clinic where treatment was free of charge. Chinese General Hospital Colleges is a medical school located in Manila, Philippines. It was established in 1921 as the Chinese General Hospital School of Nursing (CGHSN). It is owned and managed by the Philippine Chinese Charitable Association (PCCA) Inc. as a non-profit service organization. In 2012 the college began to offer courses such as Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, BS in psychology, BS in Radiologic Technology and Diploma in Midwifery. In 2017 it opened the College of Medicine, which incorporates Traditional Chinese Medicine in its curriculum. The Montreal Chinese Hospital () is a former hospital and current long-term care facility (CHSLD) on Viger Avenue, just east of Le Quartier Chinois. Despite no longer being an active hospital or having an emergency room, it maintains its historic name and primary mandate to serve the Chinese Canadian community residing in the province of Quebec.
