Cherone
Gary Francis Caine Cherone ( ; born July 26, 1961) is an American rock singer and songwriter. Cherone is known for his work as the lead vocalist of the Boston rock group Extreme and Van Halen. Early life Cherone grew up in Malden, Massachusetts, and attended Malden High School. He is the third of five brothers and the younger fraternal twin of Greg Cherone. In his teenage years, Cherone turned to singing in local bands and was heavily influenced by the reigning rock frontmen of the day, most notably Roger Daltrey of The Who, Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, and Queen's Freddie Mercury. In 1979 Cherone and drummer friend Paul Geary along with guitarist Matt McKay, formed a hard-rock band called Adrenalin, which performed locally. In 1981, they changed the band's name to The Dream and recorded a six-song independent vinyl EP. Hurtsmile
Hurtsmile is a band fronted by Extreme singer Gary Cherone. Cherone started the project in 2007 with his brother Mark and Joe Pessia. Some demos were released on the internet, but plans for an album were put on hold once plans for the eventual Extreme reunion emerged. After the release of '' Saudades de Rock'' and the subsequent 2009 tour, Extreme member Nuno Bettencourt went on tour with Rihanna, putting Extreme on hiatus and giving time for Cherone to return to the Hurtsmile project. The album was then recorded and released January 2011 in Europe and February 2011 in the US. Tribe Of Judah (band)
Tribe of Judah was an American rock and roll group formed by vocalist Gary Cherone after his brief 1998 stint with Van Halen. Tribe of Judah featured musicians Cherone had worked with in the band Extreme: bassist Pat Badger and drummer Mike Mangini. An eponymous EP was released in 2001 and a full-length album was released in late 2002. Tribe of Judah is different from Cherone's other work as it features a more industrial/electronic sound. At least one song, " Left for Dead", was (supposedly) slated to be a track on a follow-up Van Halen album which would have featured Cherone. "More Than Words" is a song by American rock band Extreme. It is an acoustic rock ballad featuring guitar work by Nuno Bettencourt and the vocals of Gary Cherone (with harmony vocals from Bettencourt). They both wrote the song, which was produced by Michael Wagener and represented a departure from the band's usual funk metal style. "More Than Words" was released as the third single from Extreme's second album, ''Pornograffitti'' (1990), on March 12, 1991, by A&M Records. The Joe Perry Project is an American rock band formed by Aerosmith lead guitarist Joe Perry (musician), Joe Perry shortly before his departure from Aerosmith in 1979. They almost immediately signed a record deal with Aerosmith's label, Columbia Records, who were disappointed with the chaos in the Aerosmith camp and hoping to maneuver Perry back into Aerosmith. The Project, with its debut album, ''Let the Music Do the Talking'', played in smaller venues mostly around the Boston area. After several line-up changes over the next few years and two more albums with dismal sales the band dissolved in 1984 when Perry, and guitarist Brad Whitford, agreed to reunite with Aerosmith, bringing the band back to its original line-up. ''Extreme'' is the first studio album by the American glam metal band Extreme, released in 1989 by A&M Records. The album reached No. 80 on the ''Billboard'' 200, and produced the minor Mainstream Rock hit "Kid Ego". Nuno Duarte Gil Mendes Bettencourt (born September 20, 1966) is a Portuguese-American guitarist. He became known as the lead guitarist of the Boston rock band Extreme. Bettencourt has recorded a solo album and has founded rock bands including Mourning Widows, DramaGods, and Satellite Party. ''Rolling Stone'' ranked him as the 197th-greatest guitarist of all time. The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert for AIDS Awareness was a benefit concert held on Easter Monday, 20 April 1992, at Wembley Stadium in London, England, for an audience of 72,000. The concert was produced for television by Ray Burdis, directed by David Mallet and broadcast live on television and radio to 76 countries around the world, with an audience of up to one billion. The concert was a tribute to Queen's lead vocalist, Freddie Mercury, who died of an AIDS-related illness on 24 November 1991. Patrick John Badger (born July 22, 1967) is a musician, singer, and songwriter, best known as the bass guitarist in the band Extreme. He has also performed in groups such as Tribe of Judah and Dark Desert Eagles. Early life Badger was born in Boston, Massachusetts to Al Badger and Lily Badger ( Aguilar). He is of Irish and Honduran descent.
