Chenyoulan River
The Chenyoulan River or Chenyulan River () is a river in Nantou County, Taiwan. Its tributary streams are Junkeng, Shibachong, Shalixian, Heshe and Neimaopu Streams. The catchment area is 450 m2 and its length is 42.4 km. The average slope is 5%. The upper reaches drain the north slopes of Yushan up to 3910 metres elevation. The path of the river has been set by the Chenyulan fault. Zhuoshui River
The Zhuoshui River (), also spelled Choshui or Jhuoshuei River, is the longest river in Taiwan, with a total length of . It flows from its source in Nantou County up to the western border of the county, subsequently forming the border between Yunlin County and Changhua County. The river serves as an unofficial boundary between the north and south of Taiwan. The river is dammed in its upper reaches by the Wushe and Wujie Dams, and further downstream by the Jiji Weir. In recent years, the environment surrounding the river has been seriously degraded both by the construction of a dam across the river at Jiji and by the ongoing activities of the concrete industry. Yushan (mountain)
Yu Shan or Yushan, also known as Mount Jade, Jade Mountain, Tongku Saveq or Mount Niitaka during Japanese rule, is the highest mountain in Taiwan at above sea level, giving Taiwan the 4th-highest maximum elevation of any island in the world. It is the highest point in the western Pacific region outside of the Kamchatka Peninsula. Yushan and its surrounding mountains belong to the Yushan Range. The area was once in the ocean; it rose to its current height because of the Eurasian Plate's movement over the Philippine Sea Plate. Yushan is ranked 40th by topographic isolation. The mountains are now protected as the Yushan National Park. The national park is Taiwan's largest, highest, and least accessible national park. Nantou is the second largest County (Taiwan), county of Taiwan by area, located in the central part of the country. It is also the only non-coastal county in Taiwan.
