Chase Lucas
Chase Lucas (born March 4, 1997) is an American football cornerback for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Arizona State. Early career Lucas played at Chandler High School in Chandler, Arizona. He started at running back as a sophomore. As a junior, Lucas helped Chandler win its first state championship since 1949. The team featured future NFL players N'Keal Harry and Bryce Perkins. Lucas contributed 113 rushing yards and 37 receiving yards in the 28-7 win over Chandler Hamilton. He was selected to play in the U.S. Army All American Bowl. College career During Lucas' first year as a true freshman, ASU coach Todd Graham considered playing Lucas for his talent, but choose not to so that Lucas could learn. Cornerback
A cornerback (CB) is a member of the defensive backfield or secondary in gridiron football. Cornerbacks cover receivers most of the time, but also blitz and defend against such offensive running plays as sweeps and reverses. They create turnovers through hard tackles, interceptions, and deflecting forward passes. Other members of the defensive backfield include strong and free safeties. The cornerback position requires speed, agility, strength, and the ability to make rapid sharp turns. 2022 NFL Draft
The 2022 NFL Draft was the 87th edition of the National Football League's annual draft and was held from April 28–30, 2022, at the Caesars Forum on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. The first round was held on Thursday, April 28, and was followed by the second and third rounds on Friday, April 29. The draft concluded with rounds 4–7 on Saturday, April 30. It was the first draft to be held in the Las Vegas metropolitan area. The first five selections were defensive players, the second-most taken at the start of a draft after the six in 1991. Along with the 1972 and 2000 drafts, it marked the third time defensive players were the first two picks after the first three picks in the previous year's draft were quarterbacks. Five Georgia defensive players were also taken during the first round, the most from an individual school in a draft. Todd Graham
Michael Todd Graham (born December 5, 1964) is an American football coach and former player. He was most recently the head football coach at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa (2020–2021). Graham has served as the head football coach at Rice University (2006), the University of Tulsa (2007–2010), the University of Pittsburgh (2011), and Arizona State University (2012–2017). Playing career Graham was an all-district defensive back at North Mesquite High School, from which he graduated in 1983. He then went on to play at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma, where he was a two-time All- NAIA defensive back. The All-American Bowl is a high school football all-star game, held annually at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. Typically played in January, the All-American Bowl is played between all-star teams representing the eastern and western United States. Seventeen All-Americans have been Heisman Trophy finalists, with over 450 later playing in the National Football League. Bryce Perkins
Bryce Perkins (born December 20, 1996) is an American football quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Arizona State, Arizona Western, and Virginia before signing with the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent in 2020. Early years Perkins attended Chandler High School in Chandler, Arizona. As a senior, he led Chandler to their first state championship victory since 1949.
