Captain Marvel Adventures
''Captain Marvel Adventures'' is a long running comic book anthology series that was published by Fawcett Comics, starring Captain Marvel during the Golden Age of Comic Books. Publication history The series was the first solo series starring the superhero after he was the star of the anthology title '' Whiz Comics''. It was first released in 1941. The premiere issue was written and drawn by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby. The series was a huge success at the time. It sold 14 million copies in 1944, and was at one point being published bi-weekly with a circulation of 1.3 million copies an issue. Several issues of ''Captain Marvel Adventures'' included a blurb on their covers proclaiming the series the "Largest Circulation of Any Comic Magazine". The series would be cancelled with issue #150 in November 1953. Marvel Family
The Marvel Family, also known as the Shazam Family (also Shazamily), are a group of superheroes who originally appeared in books published by Fawcett Comics and were later acquired by DC Comics. Created in 1942 by writer Otto Binder and artist Marc Swayze, the team was created as an extension of Fawcett's Captain Marvel franchise, and included Marvel's sister Mary Marvel, their friend Captain Marvel Jr., and, at various times, a number of other characters as well. Because Marvel Comics trademarked their own Captain Marvel comic book during the interim between the demise of the Fawcett Comics' Captain Marvel comics in 1953 and DC's revival in 1972, DC Comics is today unable to promote and market Captain Marvel under that name. Ibac is a supervillain featured in American comic book, American comic books published by Fawcett Comics and DC Comics. Primarily, versions of the character serve as parallels to Captain Marvel/Shazam and Black Adam, sharing significant histories with these characters and similar powers. The first version of the character is Stanley Printwhistle, a petty criminal who gains extraordinary abilities and transforms into "Ibac". In the original Fawcett Comics version, Ibac is empowered by Lucifer. However, following the events of ''Crisis on Infinite Earths'', the character's powers are implied to be attributed to Blaze and Satanus, Blaze. Mike Higgs is a British comic book artist, writer, designer, and editor. He is the creator of the oddball humor strip ''The Cloak'', the daily comic strip ''Moonbird'', and the children's character Dopey Dinosaur. In July 1964, Higgs created a pastiche of The Shadow called "The Shudder" for a British fanzine (of the same name). In 1967, he revived the character, now called "The Cloak," as a strip for the British weekly comic '' Pow!'', and then '' Smash!'' (running until 1969). The Cloak was the top agent for Britain's Special Squad, nominally a part of Scotland Yard; but he usually operated from his personal headquarters, known as the Secret Sanctum.
