Canadian Direct Insurance Premier League
The British Columbia Men's Premier League is a provincial rugby union competition currently contested by twelve clubs in British Columbia, Canada and one in the U.S. state of Washington. The BC Premier League is organized by the British Columbia Rugby Union. The league currently consists of teams from the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island. Clubs play each other twice throughout the regular season. The top six teams are then seeded and qualify for two rounds of playoffs. The top two teams from the semi-finals then face each other at the BC Rugby Club Finals in May. History The teams compete for the prestigious Rounsefell Cup. The trophy was donated by F.W. Rounsefell, a Vancouver insurance broker and financier and former British Columbia rugby star. The Rounsefell Cup was first awarded to the Central Athletic Club in March 1922. Pacific Pride (rugby Union)
The Rugby Canada National Development Academy or Pacific Pride is a Canadian rugby union team that is based in Langford, British Columbia. The team acts as the high-performance development academy for Rugby Canada. History Originally active between 1996 and 2005, the Pacific Pride program was developed as a U-23 academy to support the development of young players in Canada. David Clark was the inaugural head coach of the program. The original incarnation of the Pacific Pride program was run by Rugby Canada and the Commonwealth Centre for Sport Development. Eric Wilson (rugby Union)
Eric Wilson (born April 27, 1983) is a Canadian former international rugby union player. Wilson, a firefighter by profession, played his club rugby for Vancouver club Meraloma and was the British Columbia Rugby Union's 2009 Player of the Year. He played representative rugby with the BC Bears and competed for Canada West in the short-lived North America 4 competition. In 2012, Wilson was called up to replace scrum-half Phil Mack in the national team for a series of Test matches in Colwyn Bay, Wales. He made his debut off the bench against Samoa and gained a second cap as the starting scrum-half in Canada's win over Russia, with Sean White out injured. Vancouver Rowing Club (VRC) is a rowing (sport), rowing club in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Originally formed in 1886 as the Vancouver Boating Club, the first clubhouse was built a year later. In 1890 one of the city's early athletic rivalries began when the Burrard Inlet Rowing Club built its headquarters just west of the Boating Club. Coal Harbour became the scene of many colourful rowing regattas. On April 1, 1899, the two rival clubs amalgamated to form the Vancouver Rowing Club. The Seattle Rugby Club (formerly Seattle Saracens and Old Puget Sound Beach after a merger) is a rugby union club based in Seattle. The club travels throughout the US and into Canada. Nanaimo ( ) is a city of about 100,000 on the east coast of Vancouver Island, in British Columbia, Canada. Westshore Rugby Football Club (Or Simply Westshore R.F.C., or Westshore Rugby) is a rugby union club located in Colwood, British Columbia, on Vancouver Island. The club has the largest junior program on the island and is home to a number of Canadian national men's and women's team players. Founded in 1968 after a split from James Bay Athletic Association (JBAA), Westshore RFC was founded as ''Velox RFC''. With the tag line "Velox Omni Vincit" Which in latin translates to "Speed Conquers All'. Velox was founded to pursue a new style of play focused on speed, passing, and using the entire field to play.
