Campo De Provas Brigadeiro Velloso
Campo de Provas Brigadeiro Velloso – CPBV () is a large complex of the Brazilian Armed Forces located in Serra do Cachimbo (), in the southern part of Pará, Brazil. It is named after Haroldo Coimbra Velloso (1920–1969), an Air Force brigadier and politician who was responsible for the complex's creation. It includes Cachimbo Airport. Gol Transportes Aéreos Flight 1907
On 29 September 2006, Gol Transportes Aéreos Flight 1907, a Boeing 737-800 on a scheduled domestic passenger flight from Manaus, Brazil, to Brasília and Rio de Janeiro, Mid-air collision, collided mid-air with an Embraer Legacy 600 business jet flying on an opposite heading over the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso. The winglet of the Legacy sliced off about half of the 737's left wing causing the 737 to break up and crash into an area of dense jungle, killing all 154 passengers and crew on board. Despite sustaining serious damage to its left wing and tail, the Legacy landed with its seven occupants uninjured. Real Transportes Aéreos (acronym to Redes Estaduais Aéreas Limitadas, literal translation: State Air Networks Limited) was a Brazilian airline founded in 1945. It was merged into Varig in 1961, when Varig bought the Consórcio Real-Aerovias-Nacional, of which Real was the main carrier.
