Camilla Brinck
Camilla Brinck (born 24 May 1974) is a Swedish singer, children's author, and entrepreneur. She released her first album in the early 2000s. She is mostly known for her two singles "Bye Bye Forever (Chiki Chiki)" and "Tell Me". She participated in the semi-finals of Melodifestivalen 2005 with the song "Jenny", but failed to qualify for the final. In 2006, Brinck joined the Swedish pop band Nouveau Riche ; ), new rich, or new money (in contrast to old money; ) is a social class of the rich whose wealth has been acquired within their own generation, rather than by familial inheritance. Nouveau Riche (Swedish Band)
Nouveau Riche (NR) was a musical group which included Ulrich Bermsjö and Dominika Peczynski, who was later replaced by Camilla Brinck. The group was created by Bermsjö and Peczynski, an ex-member of Army Of Lovers, in 2005. Their debut single "Oh Lord", written by Bermsjö and Mattias Lindblom together with Anders Wollbeck from Vacuum, was released in November 2005. It was followed by the single "Hardcore Life", after which Peczynski decided to leave the band. While for a short period the future of Nouveau Riche seemed uncertain, Pick Up Music announced the group would continue with Camilla Brinck replacing Peczynski. The first single with Camilla in the group was "Angels", and the debut album "Pink Trash" was subsequently released. Their website and Myspace page make no mention of Peczynski or the fact that there have been two previous singles before "Angels" and when Camilla joined the group. Melodifestivalen 2005 (semifinals)
2005 was the 45th edition of the Swedish music competition , which was organised by (SVT) and took place over a five-week period between 12 February and 12 March 2005. The winner of the competition was Martin Stenmarck with the song "Las Vegas", who represented in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005, where he came nineteenth with 30 points. Nanne Grönvall's defeat was met with consternation by many people, who felt that a gap of over 150,000 votes should be enough for victory. There were even calls for SVT to scrap the jury system altogether and simply let the televotes decide the winner. For a comparison, it was noted that Grönvall had received more votes than Lena Philipsson, the popular 2004 winner. However, SVT said that there was nothing they could do about the result.
