Calvó-Armengol International Prize
The Calvó-Armengol International Prize is awarded every two years by the Barcelona School of Economics in cooperation with the Government of Andorra to "a top researcher in economics or the social sciences younger than 40 years old for his or her contribution to the theory and comprehension of the mechanisms of social interaction." MacArthur Fellowship
The MacArthur Fellows Program, also known as the MacArthur Fellowship and colloquially called the "Genius Grant", is a prize awarded annually by the MacArthur Foundation, John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation to typically between 20 and 30 individuals working in any field who have shown "extraordinary originality and dedication in their creative pursuits and a marked capacity for self-direction" and are citizens or residents of the United States. According to the foundation's website, "the fellowship is not a reward for past accomplishments but rather an investment in a person's originality, insight, and potential", but it also says such potential is "based on a track record of significant accomplishments". The current prize is $800,000 paid over five years in quarterly installments. Previously, it was $625,000. Roland Fryer
Roland Gerhard Fryer Jr. (born June 4, 1977) is an American economist and professor at Harvard University. Fryer joined the faculty of Harvard University and rapidly rose through the academic ranks; in 2007, at age 30, he became one of the youngest professors (economists Jeffrey Sachs and Lawrence H. Summers both received tenures at 28), and the youngest African American, ever to be awarded tenure at Harvard. He has received numerous awards, including a MacArthur Fellowship in 2011 and the John Bates Clark Medal in 2015. Nadarajan "Raj" Chetty (born August 4, 1979) is an Indian-American economist who is the William A. Ackman Professor of Public Economics at Harvard University. Matthew Gentzkow (born April 27, 1975) is an American economist and a professor of economics at Stanford University. Previously, he was the Richard O. Melissa Dell (born ) is an American economist who is the Andrew E. Furer Professor of Economics at Harvard University. Her research interests include development economics, political economy, and economic history. Early life and education Dell grew up in Enid, Oklahoma, where she attended Oklahoma Bible Academy.
