Calslagen is a hamlet in the Dutch province of North Holland. Kalslagen en Bilderdam is a former municipality in the Netherlands, Dutch province of North Holland. It existed between 1817 and 1854, and was sometimes simply called Kalslagen. Aalsmeer () is a municipality and a town in the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. Its name is derived from the Dutch for eel (''aal'') and lake (''meer''). Aalsmeer is bordered by the Westeinderplassen lake, the largest open water of the Randstad, and the Ringvaart Canal. The town is located 13 km (8 mi) southwest of Amsterdam. North Holland (, ) is a Provinces of the Netherlands, province of the Netherlands in the northwestern part of the country. Hoofddorp
Hoofddorp (; ) is the main town of the municipality of Haarlemmermeer, in the province of North Holland, the Netherlands. In 2021, the population was 77,885. The town was founded in 1853, immediately after the Haarlemmermeer had been drained. History After the draining of the Haarlemmermeer, two villages, Kruisdorp (Crossvillage) and Venneperdorp (Vennepervillage), were founded in the centre of the polder. In 1868, they were renamed to Hoofddorp, as there already was another Kruisdorp in Zeeland, and Nieuw-Vennep respectively. Hoofddorp became more prosperous than Nieuw-Vennep, and it rapidly became the most important place of the district. Kudelstaart
Kudelstaart is a town in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Aalsmeer, and lies about 10 km southeast of Hoofddorp. The village was first mentioned in 1237 as Sconedorpe. The current name is a combination of "fish net" and "long, thin piece of land". Kudelstaart developed around 1200 as a peat excavation settlement. In the 13th century, it was split between Holland and Utrecht. In 1724, the ''heerlijkheid'' was bought by the city of Amsterdam. Geography Kudelstaart lies on the Westeinderplassen, a large complex of lakes. Economy Like in neighbouring Aalsmeer, greenhouse-based agriculture is very important to the local economy.
