The following are characters who first appeared in the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders'' during 2010, listed by order of first appearance. Executive producer Diederick Santer left ''EastEnders'' on 26 February 2010, handing over to Bryan Kirkwood, who fully took control from 1 March 2010. Santer introduced five new main characters in January, three from the online spin-off '' EastEnders: E20'', Zsa Zsa Carter (Emer Kenny), Leon Small (Sam Attwater) and Fatboy (Ricky Norwood), as well as two members of the long-established Mitchell family, Glenda Mitchell, played by Glynis Barber, and her son Danny (Liam Bergin). February saw the show's first birth of 2010, with Kamil Masood, the fourth child of the established Zainab Masood (Nina Wadia) and Masood Ahmed (Nitin Ganatra). The same month, Sandy Gibson (Caroline Pegg/Martha Cope), the mother of Dotty Cotton (Molly Conlin/Milly Zero) appeared. Nina Wadia
Nina Wadia (born 18 December 1968) is a British actress. She is known for portraying Zainab Masood in the BBC soap opera ''EastEnders'', Aunty Noor in '' Citizen Khan'', Mrs Hussein in the BBC comedy ''Still Open All Hours'' and for starring in the BBC Two sketch show '' Goodness Gracious Me''. Additionally, Wadia appeared in the Hindi-language romantic comedy '' Namaste London'' in 2007. She also appeared in the series '' Origin'' in 2018 and the BBC soap opera '' Doctors'' as Binita Prabhu in 2023. Early life Wadia was born on 18 December 1968 in Bombay, India, to parents who were of Parsi ancestry. She has an older brother and older sister; both of her parents have died. When Wadia was nine years old she moved to Hong Kong and was a student at Island School, Hong Kong.
