Caesar Gatimu
The Right Reverend Caesar Gatimu (born 18 May 1921, Limuru, Kenya - died 20 February 1987, Nyeri, Kenya) was the Roman Catholic Bishop of Nyeri, Kenya. Vocation On 17 March 1947, aged 25, Gatimu was ordained as a priest of the Archdiocese of Nyeri, Kenya. On 18 April 1961, close to age 40, he was appointed as Auxiliary Bishop of Nyeri and as Bishop Titular of Abila in Palaestina. The following month he was ordained as the Bishop Titular of Abila in Palaestina. His principal consecrator was Pope John XXIII. On 25 November 1964, aged 43, he was appointed Bishop of Nyeri. Death On 20 February 1987, he died at the age of 65, having been a priest for almost 40 years and a bishop for more than twenty years. Limuru
Limuru is a town in central Kenya. It is also the name of a parliamentary constituency and an administrative division. The population of the town, as of 2004, was about 4,800. In a census taken in 2019 the population had increased to 159,314. Location Limuru is a town located on the eastern edge of the Great Rift Valley about , by road, northwest of Nairobi. Nyeri is a town situated in the Central Highlands of Kenya. It is the county headquarters of Nyeri County. The town was the central administrative headquarters of the country's former Central Province. Pope John XXIII ( la, Ioannes XXIII; it, Giovanni XXIII; born Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli, ; 25 November 18813 June 1963) was head of the Roman Catholic Church, Catholic Church and sovereign of the Vatican City, Vatican City State from 28 October 1958 until his death in June 1963. Bishop Gatimu Ngandu Girls High School
Bishop Gatimu Ngandu Girls High School, popularly known as BG or BeeGee, was founded in 1960 by Bishop Caesar Gatimu in Karatina, Nyeri County, Kenya. It was first named "Ngandu Girls' High School" for the area where it was situated. The name was later changed to honour its founder. It was originally run by the Comboni mission. Sister Nazarena Zonta and her deputy ran the school until 1983. Lay principals (or headmistresses) have headed the school since. The school's Old Girls' group, (ONGA - Old Ngandu Girls Association) is uniting with alumni to help revamp the school and collect donations. The group visits the school to talk to the student body and offer them career advice and leadership. It has five streams from form 2 to 4 except form 1 which has seven steams and has 15 dormitories.
