Cadillac SRX
The Cadillac SRX is a mid-size luxury SUV and compact luxury crossover SUV (CUV) manufactured and marketed by Cadillac over two generations: the first generation as a five-door, three-row, seven-passenger CUV (2003–2009), and the second generation as a five-door, two-row, five-passenger CUV (2010–2016) – the latter becoming Cadillac's best selling model in the United States. First generation (2004) Engine options included the High-Feature V6 and the 4.6 L Northstar V8. It was based on the GM Sigma platform and came with a five or six-speed automatic transmission; rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive and MagneRide were available. Lansing Grand River Assembly (LGR) is an automotive assembly plant in Lansing, Michigan, United States, owned and operated by General Motors. It currently assembles the Cadillac CT4 and CT5 luxury sedans for the North American market. The Lansing Grand River Assembly facility includes a body shop, paint shop, general assembly and central utilities complex. History The Lansing Grand River Assembly complex began construction in 1999 and began operations in 2001. It replaced the Lansing Car Assembly, Lansing Metal Center, and the Lansing Craft Center. GM Sigma Platform
The General Motors Sigma platform is a mid-size automobile platform used by General Motors from the 2003 to 2015 model years. Exclusive to the Cadillac division, Sigma was the successor to the Opel-designed V platform. Initially developed for executive cars, the architecture was expanded for larger model lines, sports sedans, and multiple body styles. Two generations of the Sigma platform were developed by GM for worldwide markets. The architecture was discontinued for the 2016 in favor of the GM Alpha platform, itself utilized nearly exclusively by Cadillac.
