Cadillac ATS-V
The Cadillac ATS is a compact executive car (D-segment) manufactured by General Motors and marketed by Cadillac from 2012 to 2019, available in both four-door sedan and two-door coupé body styles. In the US, it is the brand's first locally-built entry-level premium car since the Cimarron, and in Europe, it is the successor of the Swedish-built Cadillac BLS. The ATS was developed at the General Motors Technical Center in Warren, Michigan and assembled the ATS at the Lansing Grand River Assembly plant in Lansing, Michigan. The ATS is based on General Motors' Alpha platform and is offered in either rear- or all-wheel drive configurations. The GM Ecotec engine, also known by its codename L850, is a family of inline-four engines, displacing between 1.2 and 2.5 litres. Confusingly, the ''Ecotec'' name was also applied to both the Buick V6 engine, Buick V6 Engine when used in Holden Vehicles, as well as the final DOHC derivatives of the previous GM Family II engine; the architecture was substantially re-engineered for this new Ecotec application produced since 2000. The Cadillac BLS is a compact executive car that was marketed in Europe by Cadillac, sharing General Motors' GM Epsilon platform, Epsilon architecture, as a restyled variant of the Saab 9-3. Development was carried out by Saab Automobile, Saab and the car was manufactured in Trollhättan Assembly, Trollhättan, Sweden, alongside the Saab 9-3 and the Saab 9-5. Hydramatic (also known as Hydra-Matic) is an automatic transmission developed by General Motors Corporation's Oldsmobile Division, the ''Hydramatic'' was the first mass-produced fully automatic transmission developed for passenger automobile use. The Hydra-Matic transmission was introduced by Oldsmobile in 1939 model, one year before Cadillac accepted it for their 1940 model year. GM 6L50 Transmission
The 6L 50 (and similar 6L 45) is a 6-speed longitudinally-mounted automatic transmission produced by General Motors. It is very similar in design to the larger GM 6L 80 and 6L 90, and is produced at GM Powertrain plants in Toledo, Ohio; Silao, Guanajuato, Mexico; and by the independent Punch Powerglide company in Strasbourg, France. This transmission features clutch to clutch shifting, eliminating the bands used on older transmission designs. Tremec TR-6060 Transmission
The Tremec TR-6060 six-speed manual transmission features six forward speeds and one reverse speed. It is derived from the Tremec T-56 6-speed manual transmission. As usual, the forward helical cut gears are synchronized. However, the reverse gear operates through a fully synchronized constant-mesh system. The TR-6060 contains removable wear pads on the shift forks, and uses aluminum alloys for the main case, extension housing, and clutch housing. It is a double overdrive transmission.
