RPA Rangemaster
The Rangemaster is a series of bolt-action rifles produced by the British company RPA International, formerly known as RPA Precision Ltd. Before the Rangemaster, the company had focused on target rifles, and entered the tactical rifle market in 2001 when they introduced their Rangemaster 7.62 rifle in 7.62×51mm NATO. Rangemaster soon subsequently developed other versions, with both the Rangemaster 338 in .338 Lapua Magnum and the subsonic short range Rangemaster 7.62 Standby in 7.62 NATO introduced in 2004, and the long range Rangemaster .50 anti-materiel rifle in 12.7 × 99mm NATO released the following year in 2005. Overview According to the company Rangemaster rifles are in active use with a substantial number of law enforcement personnel across the world and with appropriate ammunition are capable of performing constant sub- MOA accuracy (0.3 mrad). Fullbore Target Rifle
Fullbore target rifle (TR) is a precision rifle shooting-sport discipline governed by the International Confederation of Fullbore Rifle Associations (ICFRA). TR uses single-shot rifles, usually chambered in .308 Winchester, .308 calibre, with circular "bullseye" targets at distances of 300–1000 yards. The term "fullbore" refers to the relatively large centerfire calibres used. In contrast, smallbore rifle shooting uses firearms chambered for relatively low-powered Rimfire ammunition, rimfire cartridges (typically .22 long rifle, .22LR). The sport evolved as a British and Commonwealth of Nations discipline in the late 1960s. Its development was heavily influenced by the British National Rifle Association (United Kingdom), National Rifle Association (NRA). Due to this history, it is usually contested amongst the shooting events at the Commonwealth Games, although not at the Olympics. World championships are held on a four-year cycle. The annual NRA Imperial Meeting at Bisley in th ...

308 Winchester
The .308 Winchester is a smokeless powder Rim (firearms), rimless bottlenecked rifle Cartridge (firearms), cartridge widely used for hunting, target shooting, police, military, and personal protection applications globally. It is similar, but not identical, to the 7.62×51mm NATO cartridge. History During the 1940s, the .300 Savage became the basis for experiments on behalf of the U.S. military that resulted in the development of the 7.62×51mm NATO#Development, T65 series of experimental cartridges. The original experimental case design by the Frankford Arsenal was designated "T65" and was similar to the .300 Savage case, but with less taper. The experimental cases were made from standard .30-06 Springfield cases which gave a little less capacity than standard .300 Savage cases because the Frankford Arsenal cases had slightly thicker walls. The later T65 iterations were lengthened compared to the original T65 case and provided a ballistic performance roughly equal to the U.S. mi ...

Rifle
A rifle is a long gun, long-barreled firearm designed for accurate shooting and higher stopping power, with a gun barrel, barrel that has a helical or spiralling pattern of grooves (rifling) cut into the bore wall. In keeping with their focus on accuracy, rifles are typically designed to be held with both hands and braced firmly against the shooter's shoulder via a buttstock for stability during shooting. Rifles are used in warfare, law enforcement, hunting and shooting sports, target shooting sports. The invention of rifling separated such firearms from the earlier smoothbore weapons (e.g., arquebuses, muskets, and other long guns), greatly elevating their accuracy and general effectiveness. The raised areas of a barrel's rifling are called ''lands''; they make contact with and exert torque on the projectile as it moves down the bore, imparting a spin. When the projectile leaves the barrel, this spin persists and lends gyroscopic stability to the projectile due to conservatio ...

Royal Canadian Army Cadets
The Royal Canadian Army Cadets (RCAC; ) is a national Canadian youth program sponsored by the Canadian Armed Forces and the civilian Army Cadet League of Canada. Under the authority of the National Defence Act, the program is administered by the Canadian Armed Forces and funded through the Department of National Defence. Additionally, the civilian partner of the Royal Canadian Army Cadets, the Army Cadet League of Canada, also ensures financial, accommodations and transportation support for RCAC programs and services at a community level. Many Royal Canadian Army Cadet corps receive logistical assistance and administrative support from their affiliated Regular Force or Reserve Force unit. While cadets may wear the badges and accoutrements of their affiliated unit, cadets are not members of the Canadian Armed Forces. With roots in the early drill associations authorized in 1861, Royal Canadian Army Cadets is Canada's oldest youth program. As of 2016, there are approximately 1 ...

Target Shooting
Shooting sports is a group of competitive and recreational sporting activities involving proficiency tests of accuracy, precision and speed in shooting — the art of using ranged weapons, mainly small arms (firearms and airguns, in forms such as handguns, rifles and shotguns) and bows/crossbows. Shooting sports can be categorized by equipment, shooting distances, targets, time limits and degrees of athleticism involved. Shooting sports may involve both team and individual competition, and team performance is usually assessed by summing the scores of the individual team members. Due to the noise of shooting and the high (and often lethal) impact energy of the projectiles, shooting sports are typically conducted at either designated permanent shooting ranges or temporary shooting fields in the area away from settlements. History Great Britain The National Rifle Association (NRA) was founded in 1859 to raise the funds for an annual national rifle meeting "for the encouragem ...

Bolt-action
Bolt action is a type of manual Action (firearms), firearm action that is operated by ''directly'' manipulating the bolt (firearms), turn-bolt via a cocking handle, bolt handle, most commonly placed on the right-hand side of the firearm (as most users are right-handed). The majority of bolt-action firearms are rifles, but there are also some variants of shotguns and handguns that are bolt-action. Bolt action firearms are generally repeating firearms, but many single-shot designs are available particularly in shooting sports where single-shot firearms are mandated, such as most Olympic and International Shooting Sport Federation, ISSF rifle disciplines. From the late 19th century all the way through both World Wars, bolt action rifles were the standard infantry service rifle, service weapons for most of the world's military forces, with the exception of the United States Armed Forces, who used the M1 Garand Semi-automatic rifle. In modern military and law enforcement after ...

Ejector
A vacuum ejector, or simply ejector, or aspirator, is a type of vacuum pump, which produces vacuum by means of the Venturi effect. In an ejector, a working fluid (liquid or gaseous) flows through a jet nozzle into a tube that first narrows and then expands in cross-sectional area. The fluid leaving the jet is flowing at a high velocity which due to Bernoulli's principle results in it having low pressure, thus generating a vacuum. The outer tube then narrows into a mixing section where the high velocity working fluid mixes with the fluid that is drawn in by the vacuum, imparting enough velocity for it to be ejected, the tube then typically expands in order to decrease the velocity of the ejected stream, allowing the pressure to smoothly increase to the external pressure. The strength of the vacuum produced depends on the velocity and shape of the fluid jet and the shape of the constriction and mixing sections, but if a liquid is used as the working fluid, the strength of the va ...
