C-Mone
Simone Buchanan, better known by the name C-Mone, is an English rapper. She is from Nottingham, England. History C-Mone spent four years with Nottingham's Outdaville Crew before becoming a solo artist in 2002. In 2003, she was featured on Styly Cee's "Joyrider" release. In 2004, C-Mone set up her own independent record label, Dark Whisper Records. In 2005, she was crowned 'Best Female MC' at the Lyric Pad UK Hip Hop Awards. The following year, she released her debut studio album ''The Butterfly Effect'' to critical acclaim. The album made the Mercury Music Prize long list. A Grand Don't Come For Free
''A Grand Don't Come for Free'' is the second studio album by English rapper and producer Mike Skinner, under the music project the Streets. It was released on 17 May 2004 and is listed in the book ''1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die''. It is a rap opera and concept album that follows the story of its protagonist's relationship with a girl named Simone, alongside the mysterious loss of £1,000 from his home (the eponymous "grand"). Plot In the story, the protagonist loses £1,000, or a "grand" in slang terms, and strives to recoup the money. In his book ''The Story of the Streets'', Skinner explained his decision to create a story that ran through the album: In the first track on the album, "It Was Supposed to Be So Easy", Skinner attempts several tasks during a day but they do not go according to plan. Morcheeba
Morcheeba are an English electronic band formed in the mid-1990s with founding members vocalist Skye Edwards and the brothers Paul and Ross Godfrey. They mix influences from trip hop, rock, folk rock and downtempo, and have produced ten regular studio albums since 1995, two of which reached the UK top ten. Edwards left the band in 2003, after which the brothers used a number of singers before she rejoined in 2009. They recruit additional members for their live performances and have toured internationally. In 2014 original founder Paul Godfrey was bored with being in the band. Edwards and Ross Godfrey later formed Skye & Ross and released a self-titled album in September 2016. Groove Armada
Groove Armada are an English electronic music duo, composed of Andy Cato and Tom Findlay. They achieved chart success with their singles " At the River", " I See You Baby" and " Superstylin'". The duo have released nine studio albums, four of which have charted in the UK Albums Chart top 50. History Groove Armada formed after Cato and Findlay had been introduced by a mutual friend and soon started their own club night in London, called Captain Sensual at the Helm of the Groove Armada, after a 1970s discothèque. The Streets is an English musical project led by vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Mike Skinner (musician), Mike Skinner.
