Burwell is a village and civil parish in Cambridgeshire, England, some 10 miles (16 km) north-east of Cambridge. It lies on the south-east edge of the Fens. Westward drainage is improved by Cambridgeshire lodes (waterways), including Burwell Lode, a growth factor in the village. A population of 6,309 in the 2011 census was put at 6,417 in 2019. Burwell is a small village and Civil parish in the East Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England. It is situated on the A16 road, and north from Spilsby. It was dissolved in 1427 and sold to the college of Tattershall, along with its chapels at Authorpe, Carlton, Muckton, and Walmgate, and other lands around Burwell. In 1887, the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad was extended to Burwell. Burwell is host to "Nebraska's Big Rodeo", an annual event usually held the last weekend of July. The Burwell building is situated on the landmark corner of Gay Street and Clinch Avenue in Knoxville, Tennessee above the majestic Tennessee Theatre, and is the oldest of Knoxville’s historic skyscrapers. Views from the Burwell include the Sunsphere, Krutch Park, Gay Street, the Women%27s Basketball Hall of Fame, Clingmans Dome, Mount Le Conte, and the Tennessee River. Design The Burwell was designed by the architectural firm of Richards, McCarty & Bulford and built by George A. Fuller Construction, known for the erection of early skyscrapers. It is built in the Second Renaissance Revival architecture style. The first USS ''Laub'' (DD-263) was a in the United States Navy and transferred to the Royal Navy where she served as HMS ''Burwell'' (H94) during World War II. She was named for Henry Laub. As USS ''Laub'' ''Laub'' was laid down by Bethlehem Shipbuilding Corporation, Squantum, Massachusetts, on 20 April 1918. The destroyer was launched on 28 August 1918, sponsored by Miss Marjorie Mohan, a collateral descendant of Henry Laub. The ship was commissioned on 17 March 1919. Assigned to the Atlantic destroyer force out of Newport, Rhode Island, ''Laub'' was dispatched 2 to 17 May 1919 to take up position off Newfoundland as plane guard, and navigational aid during the NC-4 transatlantic flight. Sylvia Mary Burwell (; born June 23, 1965) is an American government and non-profit executive who has been the 15th president of American University since June 1, 2017. Burwell is the first woman to serve as the university's president. Burwell earlier served as the 22nd United States Secretary of Health and Human Services.
